I'm not saying fighters don't come back or that your only good if your undefeated what I am saying though is that in most people's opinion Cotto CLEARLY lost to Margarito and Clottey in the 12 months leading into that fight which is just one of many factors against Cotto going into that fight. And quite honestly to me that's one of the main differences between Pac and May and also one of the reasons I'm critical of him.

Say what you want about Mayweather facing overmatched opponents one thing you can't deny is there all title holders and all coming off good wins relative to there career. With Pacquiao you have exactly the opposite outside of Barrera I and Marquez which I feel he lost at least 3/4 to, All his opponents come off embarrassing losses and if they do get a tune up there getting beat up by there tune ups.
Moralas had embarrassing losses to Barrera(I) Raheem(II) and Pacquaio(III) before every fight with manny=great win
De La Hoya had a loss at a weight he didn't belong at then KO'd a high rated fighter in Mayouga=Shitty fight
    Hatton get's KO'd then beaten up a little in tune-up fight's=great win
Guerrero goes unbeaten for 8 years and 3/4 weight classes=shitty win

Morales losing to Barrera is hardly embarassing! And you included Pacquiao III as a loss he had before facing Pacquiao - interesting!

I'm not going to go through opponents now, been done to death. We can mention Cotto, Guerrero's loss and his life and death with Aydin - Berto being a benchmark, Hatton coming up in weight, Judah off a loss, Marquez 2 divisions below, etc...it works both ways

Point is, there is no difference between Cotto v Pac and this fight in terms of catchweight. Thats' the bottom line here - only real difference is Mayweather has fought at 154 limit before and is a 2 time champion at the weight...Pacquiao was challenging for a 147 title for first time...that's the only difference. The rest is just noise dude!

Chad Dawson pre flght - making the weight was easy no problem.

Chad Dawson after getting smashed around for 10 rounds - making weight was a nightmare.

    This is Canelo.

Losing to a Legend like Barrera is not embarrassing but the fact that during that period Moralas went 1-6 yet it's a great win is, the life and death thing is crazy because a guy like Pacquiao or Martinez go life and death every fight and are praised for being warrior so thats moot and saying Berto is a benchmark is like saying Margo is a benchmark both Mosley and Cotto got the fight after ko'ing him. A guy started his career at 140 vs a guy who started his at 130 and the guy from 130 is bigger think about that for a second

These are right on the money(no pun intended)
    Is it really that important?
Will it stop you watching the fight?
Is it not better than bringing a guy up from 2 divisions below because you're stuck for an opponent?

The best fight out there is on.Floyd demands an extra 2lbs(TWO POUNDS!!!) just to show he is the one who's still in charge and to give himself a tiny edge.

Does it really need to be about Pacquaio? The guy wasa great warrior but he's yesterday's news.He and Floyd were the top draws and both started small,so both had the right to do this.
Any opponent could have said no.
The fight we all wanted is here and it becomes another *******-***** debate.
Let's stick to the matters at hand and make the most of the good news that there's a proper fight on.
