I don't think those comparisons for this fight is entirely actuate many people scored both the De La Hoya and Cotto 9-3 also when comparing where they were in there careers both had been in with many high caliber fighters that could better prepare them for that stage and match-up

As for Castillo those were actual close fights personally I feel out of the two Castillo II was the closer fight, either way Castillo is generally considered the greatest LW of his era (yet not a hof/atg which is baffling) all three of them were all tested and proven as GREAT fighters at the time they fought Mayweather I like Alvarez but he is none of those.

Looking at it the only two thing people are betting on with this match-up is.
    1. Lineal/Undisputed title at 154 from Alvarez perspective he's the champ and the "best" at a higher weight facing fellow champ and p4p star for recognition. From Mayweather perspective its a chance to win a fourth Lineal title adding it to a list of atg accomplishment.

2.Alvarez's potential, a lot of people think this win would eventually be great as Alvarez gets better with time. however I don't necessarily think so nobody praises Margarito over Martinez or Jones-Hopkins I unless there bashing Martinez or Hopkins nobody put's stock in the 3 guys that ko'd Pacquiao early

He wont win with that low ass work rate. NEVER! Thats why Mayweather even forced him down in weight! Canelos work rate will be not high enough.

Canelo wants a payday like anyone else.
Truth be told Floyd has run out of opponents.
What's gonna happen now is make believe. Just make people believe Canelo has a chance and he gets beat just like all of the previous opponents.
Just hope Khan can beat Alexander and make people believe Khan or Alexander has a chance.
Maybe build Matthysse again and make people believe he can beat Mayweather then he will lose like the others.

Not much. Canelo has a **** gas tank. If he tries to hunt Mayweather a la Castillo/Cotto/ODLH he'll gas before the 6th and Mayweather will cruise to a UD. This seems to be the best matchup that could be made given the GB/TR/Showtime/HBO cold war circumstances, but I'm not really buying into the hype. This will be Pacquiao-Margarito with a quarter of the action.

Floyd: "I look at Miguel Cotto as an undefeated fighter because he faced Pacquiao, but Pacquiao caught him at a catch weight. He wasn't the best Miguel Cotto. He was drained. He wasn't hydrated"

Fighting Caneloa at catchweight.... Floyd fans will buy it. Canelo WILL BE DRAINED! I say it now! He has a low ass work rate at his normal weight. Bringing him down will be hard for him.

Yes he does he will have weight advantage and Floyd isnt getting any younger we will see how good Floyd legs are cause he would have to move, but i can not see Canelo wining decision simply his skills arent good enough to win decision vs Floyd!

Canelo has a the weight advantage. But he does not have enough pace in his game, AND he gasses out early. His skills are also inept compared to Mayweather. Mayweather will push through a 8-4 UD.

Canelo comes in on fight night at 172 whereas even Martinez the 160lber comes in at 168lbs on fight night. However, Martinez has a 6lb muscle advantage on Canelo.

Everyone has a chance but i dont see him beating floyd. He will be too slow and he has stamina issues.
You can have that versus trout who i thought was a lot closer, but not against floyd.

Canelo is a technician. people try to make him out to be some cotto'esque fighter but thats just not him. he doesn't apply much pressure. Look at how he fought the majority of his fights..... all in the center of the ring.

he doesn't get in guys faces or push them to the ropes... thats simply not him

10 time better chance than Ghost Guerrero , who half the drones on here was talking about this not only being close, but had picked RG to win because he was "hungry and physical" :rofl
