And actually more legit than Oskee vs Hopkins. Oskee had no business holding that WBO strap. Love ya Oscar but thats what it is.

Wait, hadn't both Cotto and Margrito won before facing Pac. Cotto had a close fight with Clottey just like Canelo had a close fight with Trout. Damn, *****s are all over the place. What happened to ya'll riding Mayweathers dick when he was fighting fighters at their most comfortable weight and not draining them.

This is a risky fight for MAyweather so I give him credit for stepping up. Mayweather's age is going to catch up with him in this fight and he is going to lose. But fights like this is good for boxing. CHampions should always fight the best out there and not take easy unranked fighters like WLad does. I guess that is why Mayweather is on PPV and Wlad fights on Epix.

And now we are having a unification fight at a....catch weight. Love how the *****s spin everything. "I fight fighters where they are comfortable."

The only similarity is that they both box for a living.
    The similarities end there.
A bit like I'm similar to SRL because we both have a birthday in May.
    A day apart too.

Cotto was battered by Margs and then won a disputed decision in which he took lots of damage versus some nobody (Clottey). Then a catchweight was made to face pac.

Canelo is undefeated and looked great versus Trout. Trout is a great fighter himself and put on a competitive performance, but Canelo proved to be better than what we all thought.

A 2 pound catchweight on a fighter Canelo's size, considering Floyd's age and Canelo's age, is not a major issue. Canelo's coming off a career win where he looked sharp, great.

pac's team capitalized on the marketability of damaged/over-the-hill fighters, mostly. The Tim Bradley win was his only fight above 135 where he defeated an opponent straight up, without an bull****.

Having a champ lose two extra pounds to defend his belt: same.
Smaller fighter having competed at the full limit recently: same.

What makes Pac's look even worse is that he fought at the full limit full time after the Cotto fight, and even higher than the welter limit against Margo. If Floyd fights at a full 154 again, he'll put himself in the same boat.

Statistics for the last 10 opponents of Floyd vs Manny, their performance in last two fights, and if it was a catchweight.

    Manny Pacquiao
    Brandon Rios: LW
    Juan Manuel Marquez IV: WL
    Timothy Bradley: WW
Juan Manuel Marquez III: WW (Floyd already beat) C
Shane Mosley: DL (Floyd already beat)
    Antonio Margarito: WL C
    Joshua Clottey: LW
    Miguel Cotto: WW C
Ricky Hatton: WW (Floyd already beat)
Oscar De La Hoya: WL (Floyd already beat)

    Total: 13 wins, 6 losses, 1 draw, 4 leftovers, 3 catchweights

    Floyd Mayweather
    Saul Alvarez: WW C
    Robert Guerrero: WW
Miguel Cotto: WW (Manny already beat)
    Victor Ortiz: WD
    Shane Mosley: WW
Juan Manuel Marquez: WW (Manny already beat) C
    Ricky Hatton: WW
    Oscar De La Hoya: WL
    Carlos Baldomir: WW
    Zab Judah: LW

    Total: 17 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, 2 leftovers, 2 catchweights

I don't support catchweights and this 152 limit makes Floyd look like an idiot. But numbers don't lie. There's still plenty to criticize Pacroid for. Floyd's getting closer, but the catchweight leftover coming-off-losses king keeps his crown.

No one in here is saying Pacquiao shouldn't have been criticized for catchweights. NO ONE. What we're saying is that Floyd and his fans look like total hypocrites for doing the EXACT SAME THING after make a big issue about it.
