They should not be losing money at all not with a guy like Floyd Mayweather..... they should be in the green not in the red. Imagine had Floyd fought Khan instead of Guerrero yes you would hear all the bitching and moaning about Floyd fighting an over hyped glass jaw bum but Showtime would not have lost that kind of money. And I believe that is exactly the reason this fight is being made the fine print bit Floyd in the ass.
It makes sense, though. If the fight grossed say $55 million, the cable/satellite distributors are taking half off the top before Showtime has even paid Floyd his $32 million. Already in the red at that point, then there are the host of other expenses such as the production for programming, Guerrero's purse, etc. The Canelo fight should exceed $100 million comfortably.

the fight is being made because Floyd wanted the fight and it is the right time nothing more nothing less. It has nothing to do with the Guerro buys or pressure from Showtime. Floyd has never had a problem getting fights made besides with Bob Arum
