"He was a dead man walking when he went into the ring," Ellerbe said. "The casual fan doesn't know what difference one or two pounds can make when a fighter is already down to weight. Fighters know."

Mayweather camp are big hypocrites, no lie.

so now the *****s are the catchweight experts now. oh how mighty the *****s have fallen.

they were complaining about pacquiao's concession of a million dollars over the weight limit...

they'll probably bring in another official weight stand to make sure canelo makes weight.

Hell, hopefully he does. Seriously doubt it, though.

Is Ariza his S&C coach now or what? His preparation can't be anything less than meticulously precise.

He reached out to Memo and apparently he said no due to being tied up with Pascal... Pascal's status is up in the air now though so who knows, perhaps we will learn soon that Canelo has secured the controversial one for this fight.

Would make for a nice little twist.

I expect Showtime will show the in-ring weight with Canelo at 170+ and it should shut mouth.

Yeah, well for whatever reason Floyd has opted not to step on the fight night scales recently, he really needs to on September 14th with Canelo. It needs to put front-and-center on the screen.

It is stuipid that this fight is a catchweight. Canelo will have trouble to make the weight! Against HAtton he could not make 150 and weighed in at 151,8. It is a fact that Canelo will have problems with making this weight. This guy weights 170 at fight night. SO we see that he really drains himself to the weight. Thats why his workrate is not so big.

He did for Ortiz but ya that's pretty well over the last few years.

I was sitting near the Showtime area (where Kenny, Paulie etc were broadcasting) at Guerrero and they were saying off air that Floyd was 156 and he decided not to announce it as part of the broadcast. Guerrero was 161.

Damn shame when a ******* like yourself has nothing to talk about concerning Pac. Just goes to show you how irrelevant he's become.

Anyone else notice how complimentary Arum is being towards Floyd and this fight being signed?

Great for boxing, we don't want to compete with Floyd, etc etc.

Sounds to me like he may be finally ready to cash out and serve up the little guy if he beats Rios.

:deal If Canelo wouldn't budge from 154 after offering 150 he would sound like Pacquiao, saying he'd take a lesser share to make the fight then when an offer is made say 50/50 or no fight. Well, actually it IS a difference since Canelo actually had time in between his initial offer to grow and be unable to make 150 comfortably, not change it immediately after without reason.

Not happy it's at a catch weight, involving the titles. But glad to hear both sides say it's not an issue, and Canelo's side did bring up the catch weight first. That tells you he knows he has a nice size advantage over Mayweather.
