Let's Talk About Alvarez Skills

I only got a chance to rewatch the first two rounds of the Lopez fight today.

Here's what I noticed

He'll slip outside the jab and try to land his own
He'll parry the jab
He'll slip inside the jab and throw a left hook counter
He'll back up just an inch to make the jab fall short then throw a pullcounter once in a blue moon
His defense for looping shots upstairs is decent
He timed his jab to scramble Lopez rhythm

 

Lopez is no PBF. He looked pretty good against him but PBF is a different animal.
The kid is a pretty smart fighter smarter than most people give him credit for he's heavy handed has good defense can slip punches. He can fight in more than one way.

 

He's very good but the catchweight will affect him big time . Oh we forgot it only affect PAC opponents and not Floyd .

 

Quit talking about PAc ******* he's a non factor in the sport right now.

 

*****s can't stand the fighter of the decade, the one who beat Floyd out for the honor atsch.

It's no big deal, Floyd just following his idol footsteps. Floyd is the catchweight king right now maybe one day he can also be honor as the fighter of the decade .

 

he will be very prone to Floyd's overhand counter right, also, i will be surprised if Canelo manages to catch Floyd clean, as he sometimes seems too heavy on his feet, and Floyd proved, contrary to what many thought, that his feet are not gone vs Guerrero

that said, i think (like most of the posters here seems to) that it will be close for a few rounds before Canelo gassed

 

Man has Manny woke up. Seriously i haven't seen him at all and barely heard anything out of him. We have only heard from Koncz and Arum. I know people tried to say manny attacked someone but it was dropped bc he was having night terrors.

 

All Alaveres has going for him is that he isn't a former light weight/ featherweight like Marquez or Guerrero. He is a nugget of a kid.

That's why Floyd is worried he might be strong and keep coming forward in the fight like Baldimor.

But really his skills is N/A against Floyd. Alaveres isn't that good. All he has is his bulk which is why Floyd wants to tenderize him before they fight.The thing is Al is going to gas and run like he did against Trout.

It will be target practice and GAME OVER for senior Al.

Yeah man. Manny is up and doing fine. In fact i think he just won another election in the Philippines. He also signed another multi million dollar fight in which he will face off against Brandon Rios later in the year.
