I certainly am not qualified to offer an opinion based on the science involved.

However, if there was no advantage to be gained, why insist upon it?

Especially considering the **** talked by TMT regarding the Pac/Cotto cw.

There's no way to spin around it. It makes him look like a phony.

this thread is hilarious, lol. i bet canelo asks for the biggest ring too, lol. next, canelo is going to ask that floyd keep his title even if he loses.
floyd is not fighting canelo at the weight he won his title in, just like everyone said. im glad the fight got made, even if it is at the weight that canelo demanded of floyd.

 

In my opinion, DLH fought a prime Floyd....I agree Canelo needs a better jab to create realistic opportunities to land the left hook or right hand, but Floyd is a little slower and less mobile. Reflexes are still there for May and his skills as sharp as ever, but he will have move more with a bigger guy like Canelo. I think Alvarez gets some work in, but like Cotto....falls short.

 

Who gives a **** who presented it,jr middleweight titles are on the line at bs catch weight of 152(Wasn't floyd bashing pac for this not too long ago).Im tired of these paper belts & champs.Floyd has fought at 154lb limit & won titles there why won't he do it this time,he's likely to spark him at 154lb regardless whatsup with all the excuses.

I completely agree.....However, you gotta find it somewhat amusing how over the top Floyd fans are doing their best to defend a blatant contradiction about catch weight fights, especially "title fights" at a catch weight.

I mean......they crucified Manny after Pac destroyed Miguel for a -2 lbs welter weight title fight a few years back. I have yet to see a single ***** stick to their guns on catch weight title fights now that Floyd has taken a new approach on the "issue". The ironies of the sweet science.
