I would say there's more to him having **** stamina than merely genetics and draining.

He's very tense and loads up heavy on every shot. He also has a lot of muscle for his size.

He was able to make little Marquez come at him all night. :think

I'm guessing if he could do that than Canelo will take the bait as well. Would be cool to see someone else go backward, I always wondered how Floyd would handle the role reversal.

Muscle shouldn't be an issue, if of course its muscle gained from boxing and not lifting weights. As for tension...you'd think a guy with 44 pro fights would learn to relax in the ring. I guess that will come with age.

    44 pro fights of what?

1 legitimate test(Trout) in 44 pro frickin' fights?

Kinda hard to get into the ring with no worries when you've been served a healthy diet of cupcakes the majority of your boxing career.

We're talking about someone playing possum and the negative role and strategically fight moving backwards, dumb****, not just getting overpowered by Floyd. Know what you're talking about before trying to get on your soap box.

The most interesting question of the fight IMO. Canelo's upper body movement is probably up there with some of the best fighters Floyd has fought. Far slicker than anyone anticipated. I'm not sure he's good enough to fight in that one mode, but in the later rounds, it's not a bad option to use. His jab compliments that well. I don't think Floyd can resist coming at a fighter who edges away from him. I don't think he'll corner him, but the question is whether Canelo can do enough quality work off the back-foot, not just defend. He was very negative against Trout at times, throwing one solid counter every so often when backing up, which might not work against Floyd's D.

It's one thing when Floyd comes at you, it's another when you bait him prepared to circle. I want to see someone make him chase with a plan in mind.

This. When other fighters are negative and trying to make the opponent lead -- Mayweather and Hopkins for example -- they do it in a way that gives off the impression they're still in control. They're defensive wizards and reduce the effectiveness of their opponent's attacks to the point where you find it difficult to score for them. Especially when for every 8 punches they throw, Hopkins/Mayweather will throw one back that lands completely flush.

Also, Canelo will be in for a rude awakening when he finds out that Mayweather, unlike most other counterpunchers, is also great at leading. This ain't Trout. If Canelo goes on the defensive, Mayweather will still score on him. Not to mention that Canelo is actually not that effective when fighting off the back foot. Sure, he showed some nice skills against Trout, but he also barely squeaked by on the fans scorecards.

Because mayweather hasn't cherry picked his way to a perfect record lol

Canelo didn't have an amateur career, he had an excuse for fighting cans. What's mays excuse for cherry picking?

Slick, this is an interesting (if unlikely imo) idea and I actually like alot of your posts even if I disagree w/them sometimes, but "Nelo" ain't happenin', man. Cut your losses, bro.

    OT:

I don't think Canelo is mature enough w/the discipline to execute such a fight plan. It's gonna' be boring as hell with excited fans becoming impatient and derisive and he's a young stud who is on a mission to show the world and he's gonna' have to win clearly, if not decisively, to actually receive the "W".

If Canelo lets Floyd dictate the pace and get off first, he'll get beat by a 10-2 type score.
