Floyd said 147 or no fight to the 170 pounder.

the 170 pounder said 152, hence making it HIM requesting the "catchweight" and not Floyd

    dam Floyd a G, brilliant

People like to say Mayweather fought a "featherweight" in Robert Guerrero.

Yet they also like to say that Mayweather is a full fledged junior middleweight champion...

I suppose you folks think he has severely drained himself since the Oscar fight to boil down to 147?

Which means he's won all of those fights as a severely drained fighter. You guys must really value those wins greater than most everybody does.

To anyone who has a problem with the catchweight i need to know why weight classes exist in boxing if you expect floyd to b outweighed 20+lbs on fightnight?

Canelo suggested 152 and he was very clear leadin up to this fight that he doesent need floyd. He wasent desperate... And i cant recall canelo ever having trouble making 154?

    Canelo:

"To make the fight I had to give a little on the weight, and he had to give a little too. He fought at 154 pounds before, but he wanted 152 for this fight and I accepted. He gave a little, and I gave in a little, and now we're going to fight," Canelo said.

First off, 152 is closer to 154 than 147

We have clearly seen that floyd doesn't operate at his best above 147

Canelo happily came at 153 and performed like usual

Canelo said from his own mouth that he and his camp are happy with the negociations and that the weight won't be an issue

they have almost 4 months to prepare, plenty of time

And above all, there's a little thing called NO RE-HYDRATION LIMIT

    Stop making excuses in advance

I think the catch-weight is very fair. But there are more threads telling posters not to *****, than there are posters bitching.

    Hell no.

Cruise around the last few pages and look into them.

It is all the usual suspects are talking about.

Most of thie bitching is just making fun of floyd and the *****s on this site who have made fun of Manny Pac for his catchweights against Cotto and Margarito.

So its just funny to here all the same people defending this catchweight.

Most of the people who are making fun of it, don't have anything against catchweights (Me included)

Floyd is a 147 fighter, canelo a154, 152 is fair.

But i like giving a bit of **** because surely all the floyd fans should be against this weight.

These negotiations and the De La Hoya and Hatton negotiations goes to show how easy it is to work with Mayweather. He was made out to be some kind of road block against Pacquiao when in fact it's very easy to deal with him. Pacquiao was the one who almost blew the Cotto [first one], DLH and Hatton fights, and definitely blew the Cotto rematch and Mayweather fight.

Working with pre-famous Floyd or post-DLH superstar Floyd is all the same. The guy could have easily said "150 or no fight." He wants to get fights done, people don't realize how easy it is to deal with him.

I get this, but my point is it should not affect the result of the fight

    Yeah, the inconsistency is laughable.

Still see more threads defending it. Overall, lots of preemptive threads challenging "the haters".

Who knows, it's his body. If he agreed to it, I think he thinks he can make it.

I don't know of a single non-troll who would rather it be at 152 than 154.

Everybody agrees 154 would be better.
