    Honestly I kind of like 152 better. Floyd isn't a big 154lber.

It's better if Floyd wins at 154 because he has more stacked against him, but for the sake of fairness, this is the kind of fight catch-weights were made for.

If it didn't affect the result, then they would fight at 154.

Canelo already struggles with fitness, and its believed by most because he struggles to make 154 already,

So the fact he's going to try and get lower than that, could have an impact yes.

But at the end of the day Canlo is alot bigger than floyd so a catchweight is fair if we want this fight to happen.

So don't try and use the whole "it won't make a differance anyway bollocks"

There are weight classes and nothing else. If 2 pounds make no difference then Floyd should have no problem with fighting within weight class limits without catchweight bs.

it wont affect the fight. 2 pouunds wont stop Mayweather from swining, Canelo from swinging. either defenses. if anything it might help Canelo!! He actually needs to get in the best shape of his life

There is that and there's the possibility that Canelo just accepted the terms against his better judgement in order to make the fight.

i agree. But as long as your consistent.

I'm noticing alot of the same posters that would argue about Manny fighting at cathweights, and are now defending this one as if its some how differnt

its no Bs. do you want to see the fight or not?? this is what people do to make a fight happen. 152 is closer to 154 then 147 right?? so who made out?? Canelo if you ask me, with no rehyradtion clause either?? Hes lined up to go strong on Sept 14

    Incorrect.

I repeat the catchweight is fine because there is a big weight differance between the two.

But yes the catchweight will affect Alvarez. He won't be the same. He gasses already trying to make 154.

    Chepo Reynoso:
"We had to give up some weight, but we are confident that everything will be fine. Those two pounds that we're sacrificing was a condition to get the Mayweather fight. He wanted 150 pounds and we requested 152, and I think in the end we did well."
"If we did not give up those two pounds, he wouldn't fight. Besides, Mayweather wanted to fight at 147, then 150. Fortunately, Richard Schaefer is a great negotiator. Everyone did their part to get this achieved."

Funny how most of those criticizing Canelo for his stamina issues are the same ones saying this won't affect him.:deal

Canelo already said that he would be comfortable with 152 (weighed in at 153 against Trout) and it would provide zero issues. While I didn't like or agree with Pacquiao getting a catch weight in the Cotto fight, I still consider it to be a terrific win and that is coming from a huge Cotto fan. In the end the catch weight request might be held against him, but he still bets full credit for the win. I see the same happening if Floyd gets a win over Canelo.

I would also have zero issues if Canelo said "**** it" and came in at 154.

you dont think it will?? he just came in 153 for Trout goofball! He needs to train his best just to have a slim chance to win now he has to train the best he's ever trained. An Rehydration clause would've hurt him more, dont you agree??

Strange that Floyd was willing to fight at 154 for Cotto, but not Canelo.
