    He won his half of the four man tournament, he beat Bowe in the Olympics. There is nothing else he needed to do. Bowe ducked him plain and simple. You can't change this fact.

    When the fight mattered most Riddick trashed the belt. Than he tried to low ball Lewis with a 90/10% offer that no self respecting fighter would accept under the circumstances.

    Holyfield was the number one ranked heavyweight in the world at that time and highly ranked for at least 3 more years.

    He was retired for four yrs. So you can essentially take 8 off that list.

    Add to the fact that more than hlaf that list are Don King fighters......who was interested in options on the K2, and we all know how well Don King is doing these days.

    The K2 essentially broke his stanglehold on the HW division.:deal

    He trashed the belt because King strong armed the WBC to mandate a 60/40 split to Lewis when Lewis was not even a belt holder...Lewis priced himself out knowing Newman could no way in hell accept it and its why Bowe trashed the WBC belt and not Lewis....Bowe and Fuch knew they could beat Lewis.

    After Lewis Turns Down $11 Million, Bowe Fight Won't Happen Until '94

    LONDON — Lennox Lewis, the World Boxing Council heavyweight champion, has rejected a deal to fight Riddick Bowe for the undisputed title.

    "The deal was $21 million for Bowe and a 50-50 split if the final purse went above $32 million," Frank Maloney, who represents Lewis, said Tuesday. Lewis was guaranteed $11 million.

    "We declined that, and the Bowe fight won't happen until the summer of 1994," Maloney said.

    In a statement released through his manager, Rock Newman, Bowe, the International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Assn. champion, said Lewis is a "pitiful disgrace to the manly art of boxing. . . . Lennox Lewis is a pompous, arrogant, phony British punk who is simply afraid to fight me."

    You cry about Bowe dumping a belt but the reality is your boy Lewis dumped THREE belts through his career and refused offers to fight Bowe without the WBC's involment.

    No, I only accounted for years Vits was ranked. And we can't just use the "other promoter" excuse because its convenient. In that case Vits is solely responsible for the Haye and Valuev negotiations falling apart. Sound ridiculous, right?
