493k watched it live 577k watched primtime replay 1.07 million total Anyone who knows the American market know if these are good figures?
Looking at Fat Dan's twitter he seems to think the combined total is what most primetime fights over there have been getting and they seem to be solid numbers due to the low cost they paid for the fight.
There are 320million people in America. 400,000 out of 32,000,000 - you decide. 18.5million TV sets watched Eubank-Benn II when there were 55million people in Britain - and this was a Saturday night, so hundreds per pub and club were watching it that way, too, and it went up against BBC's Match of the Day when MOTD was at its peak. It was also reported that 1billion watched Eubank-Benn II in 66 countries. This puts it into perspective.
I'd say thats good enough. They dont realise your always going to get **** all viewers when its not on free to air TV unless its one of the biggest fights in the sport eg Floyd - Canelo. More people watched Fury - Cunningham for instance.
Chris > Carl Beat better fighters like Watson (BOTH times), Benn, Holmes and Rocchigiani (in GERMANY) at their bests and without luck. And Nunn, Toney and Jones Jr were the three best lb4lb fighters in the world, not just one guy (Ward) in the top-five lb4lb - there were three in the top three. Eubank:good
Chris eubank is one of my favourite fighters ever But your point about nunn, toney and jones jnr makes no sense at all as he didn't fight them
the 320 million number relevant as I'm pretty sure they have not all got hbo which i believe the fight was on. considering not primetime and two euro fighters id say good numbers and good exposure.
For comparison, Matthysse/Peterson peaked at something like 600k on Showtime but HBO have a lot more subscribers. Boxing always seems to do just above the million mark on HBO,
