How come Sugar Ray Leonard didn't force Hagler into a catchweight?

He didn't need to. Leonard had everything he wanted in the negotiations. He even had the fight 12 rounds when the norm was still 15.

He had competitive sparring.Who did Hagler fight in the intervening years?

You're not one of those that claim that Ray's hard sparring in any way suggests that he was in a better position for that fight than Hagler was?

Why is it only SRL haters who deny that that was the greatest (one off at the time) comeback of the modern era?

Even though Hagler had looked off his best v Mugabi and Hamshaw, this was still viewed as potential suicide at the time by the vast majority of respected boxing scribes.
So three years and a half years out of the ring plus looking shaky in his last fight before Hagler=in a far stronger position than Hagler?

Hagler was 33,Leonard was 31.You talk as if Ray was 27 and Marvin was 40.

Is that the best you've got?

Why don't you try watching the fight and we'll break it down comprehensively and you can tell me why Leonard won because of having judges in his pocket.
Only one card was ridiculous, but that often happens, like Adelaide Byrd on Saturday.
Are you suggesting Froch won because Byrd was bought?

Why were Hearns and Mugabi both scheduled for 12 then?
