Same assessment of Callum Johnson as of Ronnie Heffron and Grant Cunningham: decent enough in the context of UK boxing, can obviously crush the cans they're supposed to, and might do well to grab a regional or national title...but these aren't future stars on the global scene.

Now, Chris Keane is someone I've been hearing might have that breakthrough potential. I've only seen him once, myself. Neil Dawson is no pushover, so a dominant statement performance against him would be quite telling.

It depends on the commission. Often it is ref's discretion.

Obviously Terry was in a less than munificent mood today.

There is alot of fuss and talk about Johnson in Boxing circles but I still aint seen it to be honest. Not a fan of fighters who say ill be better against better opponents.

Keane will chin Dawson in first three.

Yeah. If you want to say he'll be a Sky/BoxNation mainstay for a time and produce some memorable nights for the home crowds, maybe even collect a Commonwealth belt, fair dos. There is nothing about him that says he'll be graduating to loftier heights, IMO. :conf

That would really impress me. :think

Yep. He is actually better than you might think going by his being 11-2 (4). High degree of difficulty on his schedule.

Keane looks like he was ripping bong hits in the locker room. He's got that heavy-lidded chill vibe. :rasta

    Round 1

Dawson is jabbing down at Keane and stepping to his left, breathing from his mouth and revealing his barely contained gum shield. Keane waits on the outside, very relaxed in his stance, shifting his weight to an and fro. Keane isn't throwing much of anything yet. Chopping pair by Dawson, falling in atop Keane. They hold briefly. Keane hits the body with a free hand as they clasp again. Break. Keane swings in and out on his bent lead knee, hovering in at medium range. Another chopping combo sent down by Dawson, missing as Keane hedgehogs to either side. Keane advances cautiously, hands dangling low.

10-9 Dawson (Keane simply didn't let anything go, and Dawson did brush his braids with a couple of those chops)

Hopefully that was just Keane starting a feeling out process.

You guys have talked him up too much for that to be all he's got to offer. :nono

    Round 2

Dawson walks Keane across the ring and eats an overhand right, snapping his face back and up but not altering his course. Dawson sweeps in a hook, keeping the strong pressure on as the smaller man seeks a foxhole. Big right hand by Dawson. Keane is stunned. Another. Another. Another. Keane crumbles.

    DOWN GOES KEANE.

    TKO2!!
