Why does my boy CANELO have Crap Stamina?

Most of what I've seen of Canelo is footage of the Trout fight, so I can't comment on his other matches, but he did look like he was tired after round 7 or 8. He just stopped throwing punches for a while, and Trout was still throwing and looking good because of his workrate, even when he missed shots.

Based on that fight, I don't really see Canelo as the guy to beat Mayweather. It's not just about the stamina (although that is a key factor), but he also seemed to have trouble landing good shots. That might be because Trout is a very good fighter, but if you're struggling to land good shots on him, how are you going to consistently land on the best defensive fighter in the sport? I also wanted to see more straight rights from Canelo. I don't know if this is something he usually does, but most of the time he was looping his right hand rather than firing it straight down the middle. When he actually did fire a straight right, he dropped Trout and hurt him. I think he should have been using more of that from the beginning.

He's not a bad fighter. Seems like he has power, fairly quick hands, and he can lead as well as counter. I also like his head movement (which is what stood out for me) and the way he was able to make Trout miss combinations. I don't see him beating Mayweather, though.

He's very muscular, solid guy, so his body requires more oxygen.

Draining'll do that for you. We'll see if the 2 lbs makes a bigger difference than we anticipated.

I think it's his built and style, but his style is modified to make up for his mediocre stamina. He probably builds up too much lactic acid forcing him to take so many breaks. I don't think he'll be able to put a lot of pressure on Floyd with activity, but that's not Foyd's fault. Canelo is his best opponent at the moment and he's boath beatable and a legit threat.

canelo is probably going to pay the fine and not attempt the cut.

its not worth it for him not to be 100 percent.

canelito cannot afford to look any worse than hes already going to when hes not drained.

His stamina is one of the worst for ELITE fighters. If he can fight consistently for 12 rounds, I'd give him a good chance against Mayweather, but he can't.

Mosley was tagging him in the later rounds and was forcing him backwards. His stamina was also questionable in the Trout fight. He started strong, but faded near the end. Alvarez is a very good fighter for 8-9 rounds, then he becomes just...good. His power will be there, but you can see his handspeed and reflexes declining as the fight goes on.

Despite being one of best available opponents available, though I still think Pac & Matthysse are better opponents, I don't think he can't beat Mayweather simply because of his stamina.

I knew he had bad stamina way before (and I mean way before) it even became an issue purely because of how he fights.

He fights in small spurts purely because he cant fight in any other way.

    Lets look at some others....

David Haye: IMO poor stamina, Fighting style, fights in small spurts
Jean Pascal: IMO Poor Stamina, Fighting Style, fights in small spurts

I find it really easy to see that he clearly has problems in this area and I have done for ages.

The Trout fight just highlighted it further for me.

Canelo looked like he was preparing for a 24 rounder vs trout.

Dont know what the frig he was waiting for,

I knew every time combos was gonna pop off, could see it a mile off

Trout not very good at anything, especially defence. His wife sexy though

I'm a boxing fan, not a boxer. So, this question may sound stupid to most of you.

He's young = yes, but he's already had a large amount of fights. Would that take something out of you? Is he a little shop worn? He's cruised his way up (debatable) but is he an "old" fighter in a young body?

And by no way am I discrediting Mayweather for taking this fight.

It's more mental and i think he gets tired too fast because he throws every punch trying to ko guys and if he can't knock you out he goes on the defensive and tries to regain his stamina.
