Ok.. how the hell was fury awarded a knockout over cunningham?

First time seeing the fight.

Fury rocks cunningham a bit, elbows him in the face, and while Cunningham's head is snapped back from the elbow, lands a clubbing/pushing right hook that sends cunningham to the canvas.... WTF?

How is that a legit KO?

 

Didn't you hear ? Fury is training MMA and calling out The UFC champ. He was obviously showing off his new skill set.

 

Fury was going to knock him out anyway. But this should have been called a DQ or No Contest at best.

 

Yeah, I mean, that was a highly likely outcome. He landed a hell of a body shot to start the whole sequence, and his strength was clearly wearing cunningham down, but that was some bull****.

 

He bigged him. :verysad

 

I thought the same thing when I watched it...

Fury did not look good in that fight.

 

First time? Are you sure you watched it at all?

Here's what happened. Fury hurts Steve BADLY with a body shot, Steve leans in to try and close the distance and recover, Fury uses his forearm to push Steve away and KOs him with a right hand

Now, go and watch Mayweather vs Hatton and tell me how many times Mayweather forearms the **** out of Hatton to stop him getting in close, and not ONE warning

 

It seems more people saw the "elbow" than they did the bodyshot that had Steve almost doubled over, which is why Fury had to push him off with the forearm in the first place

there are many reasons to hate Fury but ffs don't reach

 

Jesus are we still on Cain Velazquez? That was Fury just being Fury and talking ****, like he always does, MONTHS ago, hell he was asked in Romania "So are you gonna fight the MMA guy" Fury gave a derisive laugh and replied:

"No, Cain Velazquez wants to fight, but I'm afraid I have bigger fish to fry"

Fury was just being Fury, he's hardly going to step into the octagon with Velazquez, I think he's like me and finds it funny that people still take that remark seriously

 

Lets not compare Mayweather's brilliant uses of his arms to fend off a fighter that likes to wrestle in close, to Fury who clearly used his arm to raise a smaller mans head before knocking him out. It just isn't the same.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic friend, but is a forearm to the face not a forearm to the face, or is only Mayweather allowed to do it?

 

A forearm to the face is a forearm to the face, but Fury didn't do it with any kind of slickness... It looked worse coming from him.

 

So it's ok to do an illegal move as long as you do it with "slickness"?

It wasn't too slick from Mayweather when he simply kept sticking his forearm in Hattons face (I think Cortez did a good job of keeping Hatton off Mayweather moreso than Mayweathers slick forearm skills did)

Bernard Hopkins, how many illegal moves has he done in his time? he gets ****in lauded for it

and hey, Mayweather is one of my favourite fighters so I'm not bein biased here, just want a little bit of balance
