I think Quigg v Frampton is a great fight I the making, the only difference I see between the two is Carl seems to have more power and a better chin, skill wise there on level par imo but the quicker the fight the better coz the higher the level they fight the more chance one will lose, then the fight isn't as big financially

I think Quigg beats Frampton, the way he dismantled Rendall Munroe in they're second fight is more significant than anything Frampton has done so far.Yes he beat Martinez but so did Munroe twice and he made easier work if it too imo.Theres something fishy about this move to FW,McGuigan is seeing pound signs and looking to make some money off Carls back something he wasn't able to do while Carl was fighting under Matchroom.

Somebody said it on here already I wouldn't be suprised if it was McGuigan who was stopping the fight with Quigg, its a fight he could possibly lose and Barry's not about to let his cash cow drown just yet.

You can say that again. Jamie Arthur isn't exactly a power puncher! I'd fancy Frampton comfortably.

Think that's what everybody thought on the face of it. But then again it's only for 4 fights and if it means more cash on the hip whilst having more control over where and who they fight then it's attractive. The interesting question is where is that money coming from? Because Barry wouldn't have jumped ship if those monies were not guaranteed, and that would appear to be quite a surprising sudden position of financial strength for FW given events over recent times.

Things can then be reassessed after the 4 fights bearing in mind there is no such thing as a burnt bridge in boxing promotion.

Hearn said he wanted to make Quigg-Frampton in Sept (ifilm interview) and if it doesnt happen now, it will be very difficult to make if one of the fighters wins a title. Quigg-Frampton is a massive fight and will generate a big gate, possibly an outdoor venue for next summer. If Frampton has a world title by then (which is a big if) then he is in a great position to dictate terms to Quigg - which is why imo this fight isnt happening now.

The last card that Hearn put on in Belfast - Kiko-Frampton was one of the best cards in Ireland in a long time, Hearn was good for the local fighters too. So, that is the standard McGuigan will be measured on when he runs shows in Belfast, he has a lot to prove as a promoter as the early shows he put on in the Ulster Hall were poor and he didnt stack them with local fighters, so I'm sure he has learned from that. We will see.

Frampton cards wont fall apart anyway because the promoter will be able to bring decent (I typed good then deleted) fighters in to face him because of the sure thing that are his ticket sales.

  6. there were some good irish boxers in the WSB

couple were on the gb team and I think one was on the mexico or usa team

I think McGuigan will be promoting so as long as the ticket sales are good there shouldnt be a problem i hope:scaredas:

  8. Nothing wrong with a tuneup after an injury on someone elses card.

Matchroom have a big stable - did Barry want Carl headlining every show he fought in in Belfast? Get real. Crazy decision, I don't understand it at all.

Willfull suspension of disbelief I suppose - he's seen a nice big contract with money and power for Barry, so's conveniently ignored the fact that 80% of Frank's cards get cancelled or postponed and most of his fighters *allegedly* don't get paid withn the time limit, or at all :patsch

  9. Its not available on upc which a lot of Irish homes have and that's a load of bollocks, they'd have many more subs if that went on upc.

I don't understand frampton and Barry's obsession with this fight frampton got himself into a war with Martinez and quigg totally outclassed Monroe he hardly got hit. If I were Barry I would keep Carl well away

  11. But Martinez seemed well up for it against frampton whereas munroe in his own words had fallen out of love with boxing and wasn't motivated

Even though he is back already

Yeh he'd fallen out of love with boxing was his excuse but the fact was in my opinion he felt enough in the few rounds the first fight went to have the realisation he stood no chance in the rematch and therefore couldn't get himself up for it. All that talk of being tight at the weight too when he'd stated a few months earlier he was considering moving down to bantam. No one has ever done such a good job on rendall. As for frampton Martinez it was no way near as one sided and seeing as Barry always harps on about frampton being such a top ameteur I was waiting for a Hirales type victory not a full blown 50/50 war. For me the difference in class was apparent after watching these 2 fights but that's just my opinion

  13. I'm not doubting quigg he has lovely skills and showed against booth,Arthur and munroe that he has a dig on him
I am a fan of both and couldn't for sure say which way the fight would go

What's so exciting is the clash of styles for me,they are both offensive fighters and take risks
    We need it to happen
