i for one really love to see that fight and give props to floyd for making that fight, bitching is about floyd bashing a fighter about draining someone while he does the same. I'm not one of those guys :good

Canelo still has an advantage. But just not as big as he would of at 154. And its two pounds, sure as hell better than 150 or 147,which would of given Floyd the advantage.

The 2 lbs are minor to me.. Though I know they can be a big deal to a fighter already losing a ton of weight..

This is the best fight in boxing, I am just glad it is happening.

I said back in 09 that I would never buy another Pac or Mayweather fight unless it was against each other... I am wiling to break my self promise for this.

There will never be a rehydration clause for any fight, as it could potentially have disastrous consequences.

You cannot cap someone's natural rehydration weight.

Cave into the demands of a 22 year old?

    What were these DEMANDS?

A fight at 154, where they both have belts?

That was unfair wasn't it? :patsch

Canelo's STILL going to rehydrate and outweigh Floyd by a lot of weight, and Ellerbe has said it wouldn't matter if Canelo weighed 200 pounds.

So the catchweight was done for two reasons.

    1. Because Floyd's immature and has to have the last word, to satisfy his huge ego.

    2. He'll hope that Canelo struggles to take off those extra 2 pounds.

This forum is turning into a joke!

If Floyd and Ellerbe went on a killing spree and murdered a 100 people, there'd be clown's on here trying to justify it, saying that they were provoked and the victims were to blame.

I'd expect someone to come on and say "Floyd killed all those people cus he was upset that Manny wouldn't take the test. So it's Manny who's responsible!"

Canelo is a big boy and nobody forced him to fight at 152. if its okay for him then we need to find something better to talk about. Like the actually fight and breakdowns of the fight and talk boxing. These guys are about to make millions of dollars that we are going to contribute to as fans and most of the threads in the general is about the catchweight as if it ****ing matters what we think.

we already know that Canelo is drained to the hilt at 154 lbs

Thats a fact cause he bloats 22lbs over night

    fact !

Proof he is drained unless you think he eats that much meat the night after the weigh in.

Now he has to do even more, theres only so much water in the body

Draining down 25lbs overnight is dangerous and weakens a man, this is a fact if you dont think so try and do it FFS

the fact that he is 22 years old makes it worse his body is growing right now

This is a ***** move by mayweather- this fight means nothign if he wins and a disgrace if he loses

Floyd even stated these points himself !!

Mayweather said Cotto was undefeated when he fought him cause Margo cheated when he beat Cotto and that Pac fought Cotto at a catchweight, by that same token even if Mayweather beats Canelo it doesnt count cause its a catchweight fight and Canelo will still be undefeated no mater what happens cause once again the fight is at a catchweight and according to Floyd that doesnt count as a legitimate fight.

Canelo might have gotten too far out of shape by being inactive after the Lopez fight in September to the Trout fight in April(7 months) It also means he doesn't train year round and needs to be active to stay in shape. He was only 164 in the ring(same as Ortiz) for Lopez, but he had fought 4 months before in May. The same thing probably happened to Tim Bradley who was 147 for Pacquiao, but 159 for Provodnikov

Only Mayweather gets hate for being close to the end of a career being a prime 130 lbs fighter and then fighting the best lightmiddleweight in the world 2 lbs below the 154 lbs.

I can take that on board, but we both know it was either 152 or no fight. We've got to hope that the extra 2 pounds doesn't make a difference. But it's easy for everyone to sit at home etc and say "2 pounds is nothing!" A pound can be a significant amount to a professional athlete.
