Barrera is his best win, by quite a bit.

You guys are all missing the point of the thread. It's not to debate which was exactly Pac's most significant win, but to call fanboys on giving Pacquiao praise for a great win against Cotto and criticizing Mayweather for fighting Canelo at 152 at the same time.

People say "well Floyd has fought at 154 before" but Pacquiao had also fought at 147 before the Cotto fight.

The point being, just to underline it: CANELO IS AS BIG A THREAT AT 152 AS COTTO WAS AT 145 AND MAYWEATHER SHOULD GET JUST AS MUCH CREDIT FOR BEATING HIM AS PACQUIAO GOT FOR BEATING COTTO!!

    Got that, boys?

His win over Barrera is better than anything on Floyd's resume.

Thread started is clearly a *****

there never ever has been this phoney ***** made up term "rehydration clause"

thats called a same day weigh in and doesnt exist.

"Oh look theres no rehydration clause"

what a joke , matter of fact the only person with issues to step on the scales the same day is Mayweather

Now THAT is very true. While i'm a huge Floyd fan, i can't deny that he's done a great job of making himself look bad here.

But again, that's not the point. Regardless of what anybody has said, isn't it realistic to say that 2013 Canelo at 152 is at least as big a threat as 2009 Cotto at 145?

Make fun of Floyd for talking himself into a corner all you want. But don't deny him the credit he deserves for taking on a real challenge like Alvarez.

This fight is a joke. Floyd gets zero credit if he wins.
Making a man cut and put back on 25lbs over one night will kill him.
He did it because it s a huge advantage.

I do agree with Mayweather on one thing though- catchweight fights are not real wins.

Stop talking out of your ass. I brought up the rehydration clause because some Mayweather haters were saying recently that Floyd might enforce such a thing on Canelo. If never heard of a fighter enforcing such a clause, actually. I do believe that there are some sanctioning bodies who implement it (think it's the IBF).

And since when does Mayweather have issues with stepping on the scale on fight night? He's done it plenty of times in his career.

Fight is a joke, let me ask you this, is taking off and putting on 25lbs over 24 hours good for your health ?

I thought i asked you to stop talking out of your ass. Canelo won't be taking off those 25 lbs right before the weigh-in, he'll gradually work his way down to the weight limit over a period of months and then he will put 20+ pounds on after the weigh-in. He does that for all of his fights, and last time i checked, it didn't have enough of a detrimental effect on his health to keep him from becoming unified JMW champ.

barrera was better than cotto p4p. however, cotto was much heavier than barrera and also very good, cotto is by far his best win.

    The obvious choice.:thumbsup

But damn Pac is too green here.
The holes in his defense is just right there for everyone to see (and exploit).
