Will Tyson Fury duck Kubrat Pulev?

Pulev should fight Mike Perez next.

But then he would get KO'd.

Looks like he will be on the couch until 2014 if Fury doesnt fight him. Unless Wlad ups his activity and takes pity on him, fighting him in December after he dismantles Povetkin.

Why? Pulev can fight a tune up fight if he wants to.

Face it, contenders from this era just want easy money instead of taking tough challenges to become the best. And if ANY champ decides to drop a belt because of a bogus mandatory I will respect them. Fighters make the belt, the belt doesn't make the fighter.

Yeah and if Wladimir would do that you would cry about the worst heavyweight era ever. And what was bogus about Golovkin being mandatory for Sturm/Geale?
And most fighter want easy money instead hard fights. So if Fury fights Haye I can understand why. This is nothing new.:good:good:hi:

Not according to your boy freedom. He says the IBF unjustly will not allow Pulev this curtousy.

I agree that top contenders don't face each other enough any more, and its a problem that should be dealt with. That said, it doesn't mean the era is worse, just harder to define, and there are reasons for it. First, in today's cynical culture, fighters will get a lot more grief for losing a fight that they will get for being undefeated against lesser opposition (i.e. "haha Johnson lost to that fat slob Fury, he's a total bum" etc). So, undefeated fighters who have faced few or no top 20 opponents are more usually more marketable than those with one loss one win to top 20 opponents. Its especially true since there's no guarantee they'll even get another shot anytime soon against another top opponent if they lose, since other contenders will be afraid to take a risky fight against someone who's already less marketable. Its a vicious circle. Its more a reflection of the hater sports culture we've generated than anything. Back in Ali's era, Jimmy Young, who lost more than a quarter of his fights, was regarded as a top contender. The K's would be mocked mercilessly if they fought someone like that today. I'm not sure how you change it, until the K's retire. When there are no dominant champs, contender's will have to start fighting each other to try to get a belt. All that said, the top contenders are still top contenders, we just can't gauge their place as accurately as in the past.

If Wlad dropped a belt because his mandatory wasn't worthy to fight someone who was id give him mad respect. That doesn't change the fact this era sucks because talent is down, waist lines are up, and the supposed best keep refusing to face one another.

By the way, Fury should fight Haye and cash out while he can. After Haye knocks him out he will be nothing but a big mouth in a talentless, crap division.

Good move by Fury's team to cash him out b4 Pulev whooped him. Take a big fight against Haye, who he has a small chance against. He will likely get Ko'd by Haye but at least he will make good money fighting Haye

He's already inactive. When Adamek, then Solis, and now Fury has pulled otu, he COULDVE and SHOULDVE had a backup plan to remain active.

There are any #### of fights that he couldve made.

And I hoep Kalle Sauerland aint expecting an automatic mandate given the fact that there are 14 other fighters ranked inside the top 15 with the IBF.

Namely, ONE......who is all but begging for the eliminator.

    Bryant BYE BYE Jennings.

Let Sauerland call him......guarantee Jennings will be up to the task.:deal:deal:deal

Jennings would not come to germany/bulgaria and Pulev wont go to the states. Pulev has to be named mandatory now. It cant be that guys are ducking him and because of that he has to sit on his ass doing nothing. Name him mandatory, make a tune up fight and then fight Wladimir. Pulev-Wladimir would be a good fight!

Why would guys duck him so he has to sit around? That makes no sense. Contenders just don't want to face one another and that is bringing the division down.
