When Mayweather moved up to WW, Cotto was a Jr WW and Paul Williams didn't have a belt and didn't beat anyone of notice yet. It wasn't until 07 that Williams defeated Margarito but this was 2 months after Mayweather fought De La Hoya. Mayweather was already set to fight Hatton who was more in line schedule wise with Mayweather. By the time Mayweather fought Hatton in Dec 07, Paul Williams loses to and rematches Quintana in Feb and June 08.

There was no risk in Mayweather fighting Hatton or Ortiz or Mosley or Cotto? Mayweather knew 100% guranteed that there was no shot of any of those guys beatting him? Its not possible for Mayweather or any fighter to 100% forcast how tough a fighter will be in the ring.

Margarito was an average fighter as well. The ONLY thing that made Margarito stand out was his size, ability to take punches, and his endurance. Baldomir may have even been a more skilled boxer then Margarito with a strong beard himself, a motor that doesn't stop himself, and strong as an ox who could baloon up to 160+pds. Margarito just viewed as the tougher fight because he was younger and bigger. You can tell me though that Mayweather 100% new that Baldomir would pose no threat?

Yea Mayweather fought Judah after he lost to Baldomir and actually even offered a fight to Margarito to fill the void for Judah after Judah lost but Margo declined stating it was to short notice. But yet Miguel Cotto in his 3rd fight at WW fights guess who Jab Judah directly after losing to Baldomir and Mayweather while Paul Williams, Cintron and Clottey were all available but of course nobody wants to talk about that for the Top rated WW.

"Mayweather earned $8 million for the fight, while Baldomir was paid $1.6 million. "

At 36yrs old with limited quality options and most likely going to face the winner of Alvarez vs Trout at JMW next. Not horrible.

  6. Nah not like Margarito would of, he would have literally walked through them the pressure would have been unlike any Floyd has ever experienced.

I love how the OP makes a factually incorrect post and then starts ripping on everyone else's resume to try and prove himself correct.

Mayweather has beaten the #1 in the weightgroup in 4 of the 5 divisions he's been in, the only other one was Hatton who was the #1 at light welterweight and he beat him at welter.

I have to agree with this. How you gonna give Floyd full credit, when at the same time, you calling his opponents hype jobs. Don't **** on his opponents. I don't know why his fans would do that.

That was Ali, I am talking about Floyds fans who if you havent checked the forum lately, they go out of their way to discredit Canelo calling him a C & D level fighter a bum too slow stamina issues if Canelo wins its only because Floyd got old.

Bull**** if Canelo wins its because Canelo was the better man that night, and why would you as a fan **** on his opponent being that this fight actually does eliminate any theory that Floyd is ducking the biggest challenges why would you do that to the fighter you support?

I mean saying your man is going to win, the other fighter isnt skilled enough fast enough or slick enough okay... But to call him a club fighter a hype job then when Floyd beats him all the sudden you want respect for that win knowing damn well you called this man what you called him....
