It wouldn't have mattered if he had fought a different fight. That version of Foreman never had great stamina and would have worn himself out regardless of the strategy he used. Ali would have been too slick and fast for him no matter what.

Honestly you can't even begin to compare Haye to Ali, it just doesn't make sense. Haye fought a terrible fight and just tried to land that hayemaker throughout the whole fight, Ali wouldn't do that, he would come in with a much better gameplan than Haye.

Ali is even faster than Haye, has more effective movement than Haye and has much more ring intelligence than Haye.

List 70s boxers outside of top 10 then so we can compare them to modern counterparts and proper school you.

Yes but who has Wlad fought?

His stats are impressive, but this is one if the weakest era's of HW boxing.

You say Wlad is highly effective? Again, against who?

So what if he's a super heavy monster?

Ali was by far the better overall boxer.

Are you telling me that Wlad would have won based on him being bigger?

Wlad has serious trouble with movement.

    Haye frustrated him.

Haye's footwork and Ali's footwork are worlds apart.

I can't see how Wlad could possibly have coped with Ali up on his toes in the centre of the ring, darting in and out of range, feinting, and firing fast combinations etc.

There's no evidence to suggest he could cope with Ali's movement.

Wlad has a very decent resume mate, and highly effective in all his championship fights since 2005, :deal. I don't want to go all over that again but I suspect many of the guys he's beaten would smash up a lot of the mediocre stuff Ali struggled with in the second half of the 70's. The size and power diff is going to be a big ask for Ali. He might do it but if I was to bet the house I think he'd be looking at a UD at best. He'd struggle with peak Lewis for exactly the same reason.

Why are you still arguing about this Clay would outbox torment & thoroughly embarrass Wlad It would be a massacre kinda like the Terrell fight. Face is Wlad isn't fit to carry Clays jockstrap

Not of course. Foreman said Ali hit about as hard as Holyfield with most of his shots so I would expect that when he sat down on them he probably hit a little harder than Evander. I would expect that Ali and Haye hit about the same.

Jerry Quarry over every one of today's contenders...and he was never champ. Better skills, better stamina and never afraid to fight the best. Its why George Foreman wanted no part of him. What does that say about this crap era when Quarry would be the best heavyweight today not named Klitschko?

Quarry fought at about 200lbs. If he were fighting today he would undoubtedly be about 220 and far to skilled for today's pretenders. Live with it son, fighters are unskilled today for the most part and lack the same kind of stamina. They don't feint, move their head, work the body or fight on the inside. Quarry over all the pretenders...Ali over everyone. Just check the poll for further proof of what most already know but you keep trying to deny. :yep

I think Wlad would give Ali fits based on his jab alone.

It's such a different era, and style. Who knows?

Ali never fought anyone like Wlad. Size, height sure, style nope.

It'd probably be a spot fest. Meaning, they'd fight in spurts and spots. Wouldn't be a shocker if both put each other down.

Let's not act like Ali is invincible.

I really doubt this part.. He seems durable enough and skilled enough to do it, plus he punched hard enough to knockout heavyweights so I'm sure he could do the same to Cruiserweights

Do I need to link you to countless historians who rank Ali the best heavyweight ever? How about Joe Louis? Besides the Klits there hasn't been a hall of fame fighter since Lewis. An entire decade has passed and no hall of famers. Atrocious! This battle was won long ago my boy. Your propaganda can't change that.

Quarry over all today's pretenders. Ali over everyone. :yep

Its ridiculous logic. Hell, Marco Huck nearly beat Povetkin. His skills come no where near Quarry's.

The klits have beat no hall of fame fighters and lost to Byrd, Puritty, Sanders and Brewster. Purrity and Sanders never beat a top 10 fighter before or after Wlad. McCall and Rahman beat Lewis. None ever sniffs the hall. In fact they'd have to buy tickets to get in. Lewis though has an excellent resume outside those two blunders. Wlad has done what he's had to in a rotten era. Vits resume just sucks. And of course you would try to deride historians who study the sport, because it doesn't suit your ridiculously stupid agenda.
