I really hope so. I think that this is froch's best chance of catching ward with something big and getting him out of there. Ward being so intent on making such a statement could potentially lead to trouble against froch. Carl needs to get into his head by continuing to constantly troll him about his supposedly boring style.. Ward was sitting down on his punches against chad but for me they still lack the pop needed to stop froch.
Well ive never been a big fan of Wards style mainly because its boring as hell to watch and breaks every rule in the book but I can still look at his fights somewhat objectively In the Abraham fight (which Abraham started early for a change) he managed to rock Ward a few times, whilst in the Froch fight Ward was tiring. Eveyrone hypes up the Dawson win but considering Miranda put him down in the lead up to that fight in sparring and he was dragged down in weight added to the factors and now this long lay off after trying to fight an alcoholic Kelly Pavlik the question is can Ward live up to the comparisons of Mayweather? Its good Froch wants other fights, would be controversial if he did beat Ward coming off this layoff because he wouldnt be at his best but Froch seems to have gained something over his last few fights and improved so kudos to him (despite the dodgy scoring from my least favourite judge in the world) I had Kessler-Froch a draw but couldnt argue a 115-113 Froch win, Froch's chin seems a lot more sturdy and his power has developed a lot more whilst Kessler it seemed to me needs to retire, step down a class or move up in weight due to coming in fairly light after fighting at 175 briefly to take on the Bute-Pascal winner and Froch Vs Bika for the WBA/IBF/WBC belts would be a ******* Ward 2 should be interesting at 175 and who knows so long as Carl keeps focused and doesnt make the same mistakes he made in Kessler 2 I think he could very well win by knockout this time around in the later rounds
Ward is more likely to shut him out rather than get a KO. Ward isn't a big puncher and simply doesn't have the power to really hurt Froch. Ward will once again easily beat Froch wherever the fight takes place but he won't stop Froch. Ward has about the same chances of getting a KO over Froch as Froch has of out boxing Ward, which is quite clearly none.
Good analysis! :good Agree about the right hook being pivotal for Andre, which is part of why the shoulder surgery merits keeping in mind for the future- the tear was in his right shoulder, and no punch puts more stress on it than the hook. Ward won't come back until he's 100% but, at the risk of repeating myself like a broken record, we won't really know if it is until we get some in-ring evidence.
Think this would be alot closer if Froch had faster hands after all when he does box he isn't that bad. I'm not stupid enough to say I'd favour Froch because that would be ridiculous considering what I saw in their last fight but I'd sooner bet on a Froch UD shut out than a KO for Ward.
Thanks mate.:good But as I said,I fear Ward will throw left hooks to take advantage of Carl's low right hand. As for this stoppage nonsense,Ward was scintillating against Chad, but he only stopped him because, had Chad been subject to stringent medical testing on the afternoon of the fight,in all probability the fight would've been called off. Ward wins and perhaps dominates, but there is nothing to suggest he stops perhaps the toughest fighter in the game right now. So it's nothing more than a lucky punt in the hope it can be bumped in the event of a surprise.
And your point about the injury is interesting, because if there was any lingering doubt over it,I'd like to think McCracken would have it in mind when it comes to Plans B and C.
If Ward can stay healthy throughout the fight(Not damage his fragile hands), I can see a mercy stoppage by the corner around Round 10. Froch while winning has been taking a lot of punishment is his fights against Kessler and Ward. This will all eventually catch up to him. We saw in the Dawson fight that when Ward wants to open up, he can.
Listen,I'm a big admirer of Ward's ability and as I said,he looked scintillating, but Chad was clearly distressed that night because he had to lose 7lbs in less than 24 hrs and was at 182 on the Monday. So Froch has shown nothing to suggest that he could be stopped by Ward, and Ward has never scored a genuine TKO against a genuinely fit challenger of decent standing,so to say he is going to stop one of the least likely candidates for a stoppage in boxing once again points to an agenda. And that Agenda is a hatred for Froch and hoping he gets stopped. There has been nothing from either fighter to suggest that this fight ends in a stoppage. And when Froch went off balance against Taylor and got caught shortly before the KD,he got an ankle injury that still bothers him to this day.the most he's been hurt was by Dirrell when he (Froch) fought dreadfully and his head was clear inside three seconds tops. You can bump this and I'll eat crow and apologise if it happens because I've never had a problem doing that(and there are people on this thread who know that to be personally relevant)but you have been on an anti-Froch trip for days and there is no objectivity in your assertion. I used to ignore your Khan rantings because you were OK when I discussed other subjects Irish, but you've lost it over Froch.
Ward managed to bust up Froch with a broken hand. Thinking he can wear down Froch to the point where his corner pulls him oyt is hardly unreasonable.
I cant see it Kessler landed flush on Froch's chin several times with some bombs which are certainly harder than Wards punches and Froch just ate them up.
