I dont think Ward would be as effective if he didnt hold and lean so much. Look at what happened when he tried to move against D Boone :admin.
Its possible that if you remove those tactics that he has been able to use in America, he may be unsure what to do when it gets tough. Look at how he was troubled by Bika in round 12

I like Carl but I just don't think he wins, I know he doesn't get stopped.

 

Not that Im aware of. Froch outlanded Dirrell, got wobbled, but had Dirrell backing off and wanting to hold.
Another fighter Froch took the 0 of in a world title fight, that is 3 that I can think of and really Abraham hadnt been beaten other than by DQ.

Young fighters get into messy scraps when they are being brought along. Was Ali lucky against Cooper? Was Mayweather lucky against Sanders? Did you know that Oscar de la Hoya got a reputation for a glass jaw when he was coming up because he was dropped so many times?


Doesnt matter what happens when you are being moved along BAiley. Its how your career goes when after the adversity.


And so far, Ward has made Europe his son. Infact Im pretty sure that 65% of europeans have Andre Ward ancestory at the moment.

This is an excellent/important observation..
With Frochs higher work rate early on in his more recent fights and generally more aggressive style I feel he potentially causes Ward problems in a rematch.

If he manages to nick a decent share of the rounds in the first half of the fight, Wards slightly suspect stamina may not see him through as Froch looks to take him into the trenches through the later and championship rounds.

 

As a respected poster (arguably ESBs most respected) and fan of Wards, I will look over the posts and give an insightful, respectful, neutral opinion of the debate between yourself and Irishny.
It will be of interest for you and tough luck on Irishny, whos posts I have read before atsch. Judging by this, It looks like I could be laughing again

LOL! Being aggressive against no head movement Kessler and Bute are completely different aspects than being aggressive against Ward who is constantly moving, bobbing, weaving and altering angles.
