Basically chepo reynoso who is canelos manager states that mayweather wanted the fight at 147 then 150 and finally Richard Schaefer negotiated the 152. He gives credit to Schaefer.

He also states that he is aware of Egos keeping fights from happening and he understands that for a little reason fights might now happen so they agreed to alot of mayweathers demands because all they wanted was to have mayweather trapped and have him in the ring.

you are saying Mayweather wanted to fight at his natural weight? Interesting

Didnt Canelo say he would fight Mayweather at a catchweight of 150?

Look at it like this, its a gamble for both guys here huge risk, this is Floyds #2 fight of 6 in this cash crazy contract he has... Canelo is a rising star who has a very promising future he is on the path to taking over Floyds position when Floyd officially hangs them up.

So a fight on this magnitude of course your going to negotiate, especially when you consider the circumstances here and whats at risk for both guys in this fight.

When you negotiate you always ask for all the money, you dont start giving away **** the 1st round of negotiations you ask for what you want. Thats what Floyd did, and he didnt do it with the intention of draining this guy Floyd knew damn well the fight wasnt going to happen at 147, and Canelo knew Floyd likely wouldnt face him at a full 154.

So both negotiated purses, venue, gloves, ring size, who enters last who is announced last and of course weight.

and in those negotiations I am sure that Floyd in his mind had a target weight that he was okay with, which is exactly how and why this fight was made at 152.

it wasnt a ***** move, and here is why, a ***** move would be for Floyd to insist on 147 or no fight.... thats a ***** move, but to negotiate through that and settle at 152 if anything is to me its called smart business.

So the whole Floyd demanded this that and the other I am equally confident that Canelo offered a catch weight and worked with Floyds team to make this fight happen at a weight that will be no problem for either guy....

in other words show the man some respect here he is actually taking on a challenge against a guy who is in his prime un defeated and has a good chance in beating him......

This thread was for all the *****s that were posting threads that it was canelo himself who asked for a catchweight.

Yes both teams compromised but schaefer made this fight happen.

Not if you got 2 titlists in the same division. Only once that I know of, and that involved a total joke of a titlist: DLH at MW

thanx to Schaefer atleast the fight is @ 152, would have been worst if Mayweather stuck to his 147 or 150.

I understand; it's because Floyd wanted his live opponent good and drained. Remember, Canelo isn't a shot Mosley, a fat Marquez, or a pillow fist like Guerrero. Mayweather has to think about his health.

Floyd hates catchweights, though and was FORCED to do this ***** move because he's never fought at 154 lbs before. Both his titles there were just imaginary. Everyone was having a mass hallucination.

What everyone else don't understand is, he fought at the full limit against Cotto but needed a catchweight for Canelo. What was different this time around?

And this after throwing digs at somebody regarding catchweights?
