Good point about the start of the round, I remember it well. Was literally every round aswell! That version of Hatton was an excellent fighter, and alot of people who's opinions I respect believe he wasted his peak years defending his WBU belt. Personally, I'm unsure of when he peaked. Might have to rewatch some fights and have a look.
he was just on the start of the downside against Kostya that fight hurried the process as he basically kamikazed his way to victory
I pick Ricky. Matthysee is getting way overrated. Ricky about the time he fought Castillo would have beaten Matthyse by late round knockout.
hatton only became a "bum" in peoples eyes when he lost to floyd.he was a good fighter with flaws.with that being said, lucas would've knocked prime hatton the fcuk out!
A come forward fighter against a big puncher will end in a KO 9 times out of 10. Hatton is very underrated, had very very good footspeed to close the distance, but his head was in a straight line far too often and though he did have a good chin at 140, I can't see his style lasting vs Matthysse.
The Kostya fight was bang on Rickys prime thats a great way of puting it. thats exactly what he did. both guys took a lot of punishment in that fight, not just Kostya. Ricky's forays up to 147 shortly after effectively finished him off, Collazo and Mayweather put sustained beatings on him
The bum that lost to Collazo and the shoe salesman from Mexico Juan Lascano, who was given time to tie his shoes after he was almost KO'd? Hmm.. not really sure.
