every situation is differant. If a fighter promises toe to toe action, so you pay for a fight, then they run, potshot and stink there way to victory, then that pisses me off.

I can see that. Mayweather has in the past, like with ODH, promised he was going for the knockout and doesn't deliver. However, I wouldn't call what he does running. Amir Khan runs. Cottto has been on the retreat when he gets hurt. Mayweather evades and lands enough to frustrate and discourage most fighters.

Saying someone is running when they are landing more and winning round after round is a contradiction - Mayweather doesn't run, he's simply defensively brilliant who manages to hit his opponents a lot more than they hit him

I guess a better term would be spoiler. He doesn't run for dear life like Khan, but he does enough to ruin most other guys gameplan.

Rigo most certainly is a runner. When you are only throwing 18 punches a round you are running. Mayweather throws and lands more punches in 6 rounds than Rigo does in a whole fight.

He nullifies, frustrates, forces his opponent to change their own gameplan in desperation and then he punishes them - he's a chess player, master tactician

The only way to beat him in my opinion is the right combination of pressure, speed and power - Canelo has the last 2 but I'm not sure he has the movement and conditioning to apply the constant pressure I think is needed but time will tell...there's really only 1 fighter I can think of who had/has those tools

you only beat floyd with an advantage of height, activity and power.i always felt paul williams would beat him.not because he's a better fighter but because of the edge.

williams doesn't fight tall though. i think mayweather uds him. I think a prime forrest would have beaten him or at least given him a lot of problems.

It's the mentality of many casual boxing fans. If you don't sit in the middle of the ring and play rockem sockem boxing i.e. DC vs JLC then you are running. It's unfortunate, but there are and have been throughout history, fans that feel boxing is about just getting up there and slugging it out.

Then you are mentally limited because sports is about adjustments. You, as even a semi-hardcore fan, should realize that Floyd has never had great power. His ko's came mostly by stoppage. You can tell he often times is trying to go for the KO, but if he can't do it then he turns to other parts of his skill set and beats the opponent that way.

Fans like you just want Floyd or any fighter to throw all caution to the wind and try and go for a KO no matter whether that exposes the fighter to a loss or not. If you have ever been an athlete then you know sports is about winning...end of story. All of the other **** is only for the couch potatoes who wouldn't know what it's like to compete in anything other than fantasy football.

It's crazy to think that people used to called Roy Jones Jr boring at LHW. The man had knockout power but couldn't knock everyone out. When he had to go the distance people called him boring even though he had some of the most amazing offense in boxing history.
