I recently watched Tarver Jones 2. It was jones first REAL loss and a devastating one on top of that. Given how jokes had talked himself up and insinuated that he was invincible, I thought he would have an epic breakdown after losing to tarver. He simply smiled and said it was hard to get motivated for fights anymore. The camera followed him to the locker room where he seemed pensive but overrall he almost seem to expect the loss. I just wonder how Mayweather (who I feel has a bigger ego and is more dependent on his aura of invincibility from a financial standpoint than jones was) will react if he gets knocked out. Another thing I noticed. Merchant for a long time seemed to. Ash Jones up and down for being so good and it appeared he wanted nothing more than to see jones loose. He was absolutely jubilant when it happened. It's just too bad Merchant won't be in a commentating position if Floyd Looses because Merchant seems to feel the same about Floyd. For along time Merchant has bashed Floud for being to good and you could tell he wanted nothing more than Floyd to loose.
I think he wouldn't take it will but on a positive note, he will start fighting with a whole less caution and he would starting taking more risky challenges more willingly.
For all their trash talk and antics, at the end of the day Mayweather, just like RJJ, is a true professional who understands that anything can happen in the ring. I'd expect Mayweather to stand there, do his interviews, and take it like a man.
One thing for sure imo is that he will not start a trend of losing to B and B- level fighters like Roy though. Floyd's fundelmentals will allow him to fight into his 40s like bhop.
I don't know, get in a time machine and find teenage Floyd so you can ask him. His last official defeat will probably stand as Todorov.
Officially, his last defeat was against Todorov. Unofficially, the last man who can make a convincing argument is Aragon (stronger argument than Castillo). The last legit official defeat was to Augie Sanchez.
