Question I have for TS is why are you so concerned that people find Floyd boring? why are you trying to convince us we shouldnt think that way? does it bother you that people say he is boring that much? I mean so much so that you have to go out of your way and try to convince people we are missing out?
No i know Floyd can bore at times. After the first four rounds against Robert, Floyd sucks the life out of the fight when he took Robert's believe away. There are several fights of Floyds that i will not watch the whole way through again. Floyd vs Baldo Floyd vs Robert Floyd vs JMM Floyd vs Oscar But here is the thing... there are plenty of fights that so called "exciting fighters" that i will not watch again as well. A lot of Donaires fights are not worth of a second viewing, Pac vs Clottey, Pac vs JMM3, Pac vs Shane were boring as hell.
It's a message board. People have opinions. Not every thread can be something everyone will love and agree with. If it was like that, then their would be no message boards.....
I'm not concerned but rather bring up the point that the same guys who claim that he is boring are the same ones demanding more fights where he will definitely be boring. I know Canelo vs FLoyd is going to be boring as hell.
Blasting out smaller guys would still cost him respect with the die hard boxing fan. It's a no win proposition. Floyd would KTFO Khan in spectacular fashion. It would be SportsCenter Top 10 material, but then all the real fans would point out Khan's glass jaw. I think beating the already beaten Pac, who is still more liked than Floyd, would actually generate more hate, and he goes 12 non-explosive rounds with Bradley.
I think the better question would be why did fighters like Mosley, Ortiz, and Guerrero not do like they had done in their previous fights. Mayweather takes away their best assets and outboxes them. Shouldn't they be called boring, since they looked nothing like they had looked in their previous fight...
@Bazooka I am actually one of the few fans on here that really tried to push for fights for Floyd against guys that will be coming up to 147 soon. The reasons as you and others have stated that Floyd is the best boxer in boxing and his ppvs generates a lot of attention from casuals so he needs some look good fights. Like a Rios, Maidana, Tim bradley, khan or Garcia. Guys that will give him so many easy opportunity to hit and guys who chin is not as sturdy. There is a reason why Pac is view as "exciting" bc he was pitted against walking punching bags half the time. Not trying to hate but his opposition have a distinct exploit and that is usually a leaky defense.
I usually enjoy watching Floyd, but his fight vs RG bored the **** out of me. Hope vs Canelo is better.
Canelo will be even worse, unless Floyd gets KTFO. No way will Floyd stand and trade with Canelo. This is a great fight for people who follows boxing but will be another PPVs that sells will be people will complain about it afterward. People forgot how "boring" SRL vs Duran II was. Mega fight but SRL intentionally chose not to fight Duran at all. He did what guys do on fight night and get one hit and retreated and waited for the round to be over.
I do find his fights boring at times. Its just ashame he does not have punching power. Imagine if he did. WHen you watch a Mayweather fight you know its going the full 12.
You got to understand that it takes 2 people to make a fight. Why do you think Mosley and Ortiz didn't look like they did in the Margarito and Berto fights? Floyd is beating them to the punch, and making them miss 80% of the time. He beats them so bad that they decide not to attack much and are happy just going the distance. Floyd just isn't a finisher like Pacquiao or SRL. But, when a fighter pressures him he most definitely opens up. Problem is, the fighters gets discouraged and gives up...
