You must choose. The cards are in direct competition and will totally overlap, both starting at 10pm EST/7pm Pacific. (3am UK) Showtime triple-header: Jermell Charlo vs. Demetrius Hopkins, 12 rounds @ light middleweight Erislandy Lara vs. Alfredo Angulo, 12 rounds @ light middleweight Marcos Rene Maidana vs. Jose Manuel Lopez, 12 rounds @ welterweight (some nice undercard bouts are not part of the official broadcast yet might be shown on Showtime Extreme in the lead-up. They include Yoshihiro Kamegai vs. Johan Perez, 10 rounds @ welterweight and Ronny Rios vs. Leo Miranda, 10 rounds @ super featherweight...also US Olympian non-medalist Joseph Diaz Jr. looks to improve to 5-0...) HBO doubleheader: Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Darley Perez, 12 rounds @ super featherweight Chad Dawson vs. Adonis Stevenson, 12 rounds @ light heavyweight (like Showtime, they are leaving out some juicy scraps as non-televised despite there being plenty of room on their plate. I see no reason why they couldn't make it a triple-header of their own to compete with Showtime's and include Eleider Alvarez vs. Allan Green, 10 rounds @ light heavyweight... :conf) For me it's a pretty obvious choice which merits live viewing and which can be saved on DVR.... How about you? :think
i don't really care about the first 2 fights on Showtime, but really am excited about the main event. Gamboa is my favorite and I am hoping to see Chad Dawson get KTFO by Adonis Stevenson. So I will be watching HBO.
I have both. That's like $30 bucks a month, no way i'm picking one over the other. I will do what I've done before so many times, and Saturday will be no different. I will maneuver through the fights. Example: If Charlo vs Hopkins will be televised, there's no way i'm watching that over Gamboa. For Dawson-Stevenson vs Lara-Angulo, Maidana-Lopez, that will be tougher. It's tedious to do, but just switch channels when one fight has the fighters in their corners for that 1 minute. I will be switching back and forth. If I fail to watch a certain fight peacefully, that deserved by full undivided attention, I will just DL it and re-watch it.
