Hi guys, We have been based here in St. Louis, USA, for 2 weeks now with 3 more weeks to go until the big fight. Sakio is looking and feeling great. It's 6am starts for us running and afternoon boxing sessions. We have been working with Kevin Cunningham again and it has been a great camp so far. Sakio isn't a big talker but he appreciates the support and he proudly fights for both Australia and Cameroon. Hope you guys can watch the fight on June 22nd. All the best, Team Bika
Thirteen years after watching him fight for the first time, I would love to see him get this done. Go Sakio.
Bika is probably the best fighter in the world in the last decade not to have won a world title. He has to win it this time!
Hi Lucian Bute, Thanks again. His path hasn't been the easy one but Sakio is a real fighter and this is a very good opportunity. I'm seeing more focus and desire in him then ever. Take care mate.
yep sakio has fought everyone and never backed down from a challenge . from byer , joe , bute , ward , you name em the bloke has fought em . all the best to him hope he gets over the line this time and who knows a possible fight with froch or rematch with bute .
Sakio has always had desire and his boxing has become more refined in time too. I am sure that he will be 100% focussed for this one! All the best!:good Not only has Sakio fought everyone, but he gave some of those top fighters their hardest ever fight:- - Calzaghe had one of his hardest fights against Sakio - many rounds were highly contested and Calzaghe had to dig deep to win. - He won some 4,5 rounds against Bute - good performance by Sakio - He gave Ward his hardest fight to date since Ward started fighting at world level - if that fight had been called a draw, not many neutral observers would have complained, imo. Come on, Sakio! Do it this time, mate!:deal
He would have beaten Beyer had that fight run its course. It's time to bring the WBC belt home & put it on the mantlepiece. One of those would be a great legacy for his career.
..the first time i saw him fight on telly back in '02 i went to the gym spruikin' off about him that he was world class and gunna be the next big thing.. (funny one of the so called experts on another forum poured cold water on my enthusiasm that day..nah..not world class..blah blah..) :good
Oh well, it IS a world title fight and the winner WILL be a world champion. Is every fight in boxing supposed to be a superfight? Boxing has had multiple world champions in each division longer than i have been alive. It would be great to see both Sakio and Daniel Geale as Australia's current world champions, especially since they have worked together quite a bit the last few years.
