Floyd/Canelo will be a BIG boxing event that turns out to be lackluster.

From what I've been reading from the Mayweathers and just recently from Jeff. "Floyd is going to have to go back to the old Floyd and that's box. Canelo is flatfooted which will make it easier for Floyd to get on his toes, dance, and pot shot him".

The hype will will surpass the actual event. I commend Floyd for stepping up to the plate and facing the challenge but I will be highly dissapointed if this is a replay of Floyd/Baldomir II. I'm not asking Floyd to go toe to toe with the much larger stronger Canelo. I'm just saying, if he's going to box him, do so by doing much more than just potshotting and/or throwing just 1 punch then holding or evading.

I'm hoping for an amazing fight but the more I think of it and the more the Mayweathers give their views, I have a feeling Floyd will show up to be a spoiler and tap & move for 12 rounds to make it a very lackluster night of boxing.

i actually read an interview where canelo acknowledge this is probably what hes gonna do, and therefor is going to rip the body. Its not a elaborate plan but its a start, and its good to know canelo knows what strategy mayweather will most likely use.

It will be one sided but nothing like the baldomir vs mayweather fight. Baldomir was determined to get the ko the whole fight and was just outboxed. He finished the fight with his dignity. Canelo will gas out and run like a coward just as he did against trout. He doesn't have the big fight experience to relax and focus when things get tough. As soon as mayweather throws some feints at canelo and canelo starts hitting air and gets frustrated it won't be long. Mexican fight fans are really hard up for a hero right now. Stick by mares, Garcia, and Marquez. Canelo has no balls! Furthermore, Mexican people who have made comparisons to Chavez and canelo should be just as embarrassed as when they voted for Obama.

its exactly why I don't like what I call runners and what others call technical fighters somehow in recent times this running and playing of keep-away is now somehow seen as technical brilliance and glorified as the art or science of boxing.

I say its favored by those wimp viewers who never grew up playing sports or who are not athletically gifted. I also believe its favored by those cats who where never picked first in pick up games.

Its just my opinion but how can any man who has reveled in his own manhood enjoy the spectacle of some coont refusing to engage and running around winning on points while hardly landing any shots of relevance.

Sure I enjoy being clinical when it leads to the destruction of you're opponent not some safety first morse code tap fest with one guy avoiding and racking up tap shots over 12 rds.

This^ This is why I have the utmost respect for JMM. He's techinical yet does it in a very entertaining ballz to the wall way. He's not safety first. He actually steps in the ring with the intention of taking his opponent out rather than merely tapping his way to a boring 12round decision.

I failed to see where he ran in that fight. He took time off where he was inactive at times but I dont recall him running or retreating that night.

There haven't been many fights where Mayweather used a lot of movement. He's very adept at fighting in the pocket. He'll give Canelo a lot of different looks. He'll be on his toes, he'll fit off the ropes, he'll fight in the pocket. How entertaining the fight is depends on Alvarez. Will he be able to mount an effective offense? If he gets down on the cards, will he let it all hang out, or will he be content to go the distance?
