Personally I'd love to see that fight.

''Make no mistake — champion Cleverly, who began his career down at welterweight, is prepared to make the greater sacrifices''

The 'article writer' fails to mention the small fact that Clev was 18 at the time!

Can't see it happening tbh, FW probably knew they would reject the offer regardless and it's just point scoring, so he can say they rejected the fight with Clev, he would probably have **** a brick if they had accepted.

VVarren can **** himself, quite frankly. He has quite a long history of 'offering' fights which are then turned down. Usually for good reason. Doesn't stop the bitter, fish-eyed old **** from twisting the facts to his own ends. Cleverly needs to fight someone decent in his own ****ing division, and stop ducking anyone who's not an Albanian binman.

This, it's an old ploy of his, apparently Haye was ducking Enzo at one point

    Exactly.

Anyone can make offers of anything. Actually delivering the fight is completely another.

Froch isn't stupid, he'll know it's folly and can just shrug it off.... he's the one with the record of fighting top opponents regularly, whereas Cleverly has fought a succession of imported bums with the odd decent fight inbetween.

If I was fighting an Allegedly fighter I'd insist on the money being lodged into an escrow account at an independent solicitor (not Allegedly's solicitor) prior to the fight taking place.

It would be on Box Office if it was made and they would make it at a catch weight of 172.

Never going to happen almost certainly for reasons mentioned.

But F.W. can make the offer, and it would be a reasonable domestic fight. But I doubt it would be any bigger than Froch/Groves even without Groves being a world champion.

Would have to have a hydration limit surely for Froch to be interested? Why would Froch want to fight anyone outside of SMW when he is always so close to the weight even after weigh-in?

Froch is at the stage of his career where he should defo maximise his earning potential, his stock has never been higher.

A fight with Cleverley would generate far more money for Froch than say a fight with Stieglitz.

Carl doesn't really need that fight though, he has 3 potential big moneymaking fights in his own division with Ward, Kessler and Groves, he doesn't need Cleverley though I would really like to see that fight.
