In my opinion and I warn this might sound harsh but Funtime or whatever he calls himself needs to sit down and really think what he wants out life and boxing. Talent on its own is not enough in this game it requires proper application. That is all I want to say on this matter for now.
? Is all that springs to mind when I hear about Frankie,I want him to do well but he needs better opposition. I'd love to see him fight Kell Brook that would be a good all British scrap.
Thats all thats been said on the matter time and time again. The lads progressing a lot better in terms of better fights/titles etc now and this is still being done to death
Have you not followed him whatsoever in the last 18 months plus? He's been doing exactly that. How long will it have to be to get rid of that stigma
exactly feel for Frankie people still label him like that when in fairness hes moved on from those problems.
:deal Im really getting sick of this **** keyboard warriors stuff, a bit of constructive critism and verbal encouragement does the job not all this stigmatic judgemental ****. Plus when others start believing in you that really goes a long way
Probably never it's wrong but once you get tagged like Frankie has it tends to stick ironically brooks indiscretions seem to be the exception to that rule.
I am sorry because as all of you who ready posts know I am a real boxing man however the point is that Frankie Gavin is blessed with more talent than most but can it really be said that he is maximizing it! Boxing is a serious business.
Just to be clear I appreciate his talent. Compare his progress to George Groves by way of example who is more or less ready to fight for and win a world title.
Luckily for Groves he hasn't faced any of the hardships Frankie has over the last few years. Not wanting to harp on to much about it as most know his issues (thanks to a poster under an alias making it public on here) but the lads been through a lot in the last few years. He's now gotten over that and has the British title, via a win against a very good (albeit slightly past prime) Witter, and is 3 weeks from defending against a fighter a lot consider to be too much for him. The issue has been done to death and continues to be done to death despite the fact everyone can clearly see the lads getting on with his life/career and the fact he comes on here and interacts honestly with (us) fans of the sport.
Gavin had a lot of potential, but I don't think he has the intelligence or drive. Wasted career most likely, at the end.
Good luck to him but you know in life fighters all face issues. Let us see if he can fulfill his talent but the jury is definitely watching.
