it was a bad move by mayweather and i suppose the same logic MUST apply .. though i do feel the catchweight was needed for the sake of hopefully not having 1 guy come in close to 3 weight divisions higher on fightnight

Its only 2 pounds. mayweather has to go up 5 pounds. mayweather is not even a natural welterweight. he has only ko'd hatton at welter cause hes not strong enuf for it. i dont count ortiz ko. mayweather is more affected by the weight than canelo. he cant move as well wen he goes past 147 as we have seen against cotto and oscar.

We all know Floyd is not his best at 154lbs. He fought there twice and struggled both times, now he's fighting a much younger opponent at that weight. If Floyd is better at 147 and Canelo at 154, then it would be with in the interest of both fighters to meet some where in the middle so neither fighter would be at a disadvantage or have a advantage. Although I will say, if there fighting for a 154lb title, then there should not be a catch weight for the fight. 154lbs is 154lbs and a title won at 154lbs should be fought at 154lbs.

No, it doesn't work that way, a loss is a loss. And for the record, just because Mayweather said he CONSIDERED Cotto to be a undefeated fighter, obviously didn't make it so.

I agree with the entirety of your comment. If Floyd is better at 147 and Canelo at 154, then that's Floyd's problem, not Canelo's since the weight limit of the belt that they both hold is 154. Floyd knew he was in trouble, and that's why he pussed out and said "I ain't fightin unless it's at a ***** weight". That's not what the best does. That might be what the best* does, but not the best.

Especially considering how he made a big deal out of not fighting at catch weights against Cotto. He criticized Pacquiao for doing something, then turned around and did the same exact thing to Canelo. And neither him or DLH will even admit that it was Catch who needed the catch weight. DLH said Canelo wanted the fight at 152. So, you're saying that the catchweight happened becaue of Canelo, right DLH? uh-huh, whatever you say DLH.

Absolutely would be undefeated, a rematch would be a must. They could probably build up extra hype on Fight Camp 360 by focusing on the weight manipulation for the rematch. Plus the focus on weight could be educational to the newcomers, and spur more positive changes in the sport, as Floyd is known to do. Floyd would have to let them paint him as a hypocrite on this subject, but he doesn't mind playing the villain for extra buys, it's all for show.

I agree, and I'm a Floyd fan. I will disagree about, 147 being a ***** weight. It's just the weight that Floyd fights his best in comparing the two. I do seriously doubt that it was Canelo idea to fight at 152lbs because I'm sure he would prefer the advantage, considering who he's fighting. Unless he believes beating Floyd at a lower weight will look that much better legacy wise then beating him at a weight, that he's not so good in. I truly believe Floyd can beat him in either weight class, but will have a harder time doing it at 154lb then he would at 147lb or close to it. There should be a clause in the contract that make it so, that Canelo can't come in the ring no higher then 154lbs. (NO Re hydration) That way the title will be defended according to the weight class.

What Floyd''s sensitive fans fail to understand is that nobody cares about the catchweight- it's the hypocrisy.

mostly everybody has left of all races. Nobody invited you because you're a dumbass and shitty poster. Sergio Martinez is one of my favorite fighters, but you turn people off of him because of the nonsense you be saying. Same with Matthysse

If Floyd CATCHweather is not a natural WW then what is he? :think He sure as hell is not a JrWW either since he couldn't make the weight for Marquez at 143, he sure won't fight Khan/Garcia/Matthysse at 140, he will make them move up. So what is he? The excuses never seem to stop. :patsch
He fought Cotto at his most comfortable weight, his words, but can't do it for Canelo? :yep
