Kamegai is still looking to apply pressure but unerringly gets beaten to the punch and raked with leather, unable to mount any meaningful retaliatory attacks due to Perez's swift abandonment of the battlefield once he's dealt his damage. Perez is using jabs, rights and hooks to great effect while artfully stepping around Kamegai, using directional changes and sometimes stooping in low to abruptly jolt Kamegai with the interruption of his droning forward momentum, and then pushing off. Kamegai is managing to lay a hand on Perez's face here and there when Perez backs out, but isn't landing any punches with authority like he intends.

Kamegai is coming forward, nestling in against Perez, almost welcoming the rest. They separate and Perez lumps in several hooks to the sides of Kamegai's head, letting both fists bore in with equal conviction. Nothing back from Kamegai. They step completely apart and Kamegai throws a faint right hand at the receding image of Perez. Kamegai seems half asleep on his feet. Left hook, right hand, left hook by Perez - all the punches caught partially on the gloves but scraping against Kamegai's face. Kamegai does an odd shuffle to get inside, waving his gloves around to fake Perez out. Perez just waits to react. Right hand by Kamegai. Perez ducks the next one.
