ODLH: Canelo at 22 has more boxing skills and at 25 years he could of beaten FMJ EASY

Oscar always says insert name is going to beat Floyd. It's his job in a since to promote whatever opponent Floyd is facing and hype them up for a chance to win. Canelo is his next name to try to make big so of course he's pumping up his golden goose. I like Oscar but some of the things he says is ridiculous.

 

He believes in his boy. Don't worry about it.

Oskie is just trying to sell the fight. He's saying the right things so you can't knock him for that. Anybody that knows boxing is aware that he is lying through his teeth but that's the way it is.

 

Well he's right about the second part. In his prime Oscar would have beaten Floyd, clearly .

I would still pick FMJ to be honest. A 25 yo FMJ vs a 25 yo DLH? FMJ by UD. A 35 yo FMJ vs a 25 yo DLH? Maybe DLH gets it done, but it's really a toss up fight.

 

Floyd was in his prime when he fought Oscar, but not at his best. 147 Floyd still beats a prime WW Oscar.

you might be right, can't really argue with that view. DLH was a workhorse in his prime, and I could see him outlanding Floyd. But I think you're exaggerating a bit. he had some stamina. DLH having no stamina would be like when he took on Pacquiao drained and quit on his stool. But yeah the footwork was clearly diminished against FMJ. as others have mentioned here, the Floyd that fought DLH that night was also not the best version of FMJ.

Let be honest, FMJ looked much better when he faced Hatton vs when he faced DLH, and that was later on in the same year. Prime for Prime, maybe DLH would have won, but it wouldn't be a blowout or anything. Maybe a split decision or something. DLH was a much bigger box office attraction in his 20s then FMJ. FMJ didn't really became as big of a star as DLH until he beat DLH. It's hard to say how a young DLH would fare against a young FMJ, but I think it's fair to say it would be close and could probably be debated either way as far as who would win.

Too bad Oscar doesn't believe that himself. With the years of Floyd calling him out and PRIME Oscar pretending like he hadn't heard a thing. Smells like GARGANTUAN RISK, small reward from his POV.
