    ...and she doesn't seem to belong on your list, so she is quite the catch. :hey

    (her card wasn't the best of the panel, but it beat Connolly's :D)

    Pat Connolly must be a major Nipponophile. :blood

    He probably has anime posters all over his room.

    :yep She's a clean judge so far. And as far as women judges go better than Julie Lederman and C.J. Ross.

    (In looks and scoring :D :yep )

    Regarding Lara he's a very good fighter but does anyone else not think the hype for him on this website has reached ridiculous levels?

    I'm not just talking about the guys who say he'd school Mayweather (nobody is schooling Mayweather in or around his weight anytime soon) but people wittering on about he should be rated number 1 at 154.

    Here's a question- how many people would be saying Canelo is a hype job who was exposed if he had performed as Lara did against Molina and Vanes?

    I know it wasn't a Sunday, hence my confusion, think I must just have seen it wrong.

    Huh. :think That's just so weird and inconceivably alien to me that anyone wouldn't have at least a passing slim knowledge of at the very least even crude barely-functioning conversationa Spanish by adulthood. It's unofficially the "second national language" of the US (and there has been much hullabaloo growing in the last couple of decades regarding some official recognition of it as such).

    I guess it follows that where the UK doesn't share a larger border with a Mexico (itself as the stopgap buffering an entire continent of Hispanics) you wouldn't necessarily be exposed to it as much. Spaniards probably aren't the mainland Euros who share the most cultural overlap with you, after all.

    Basically any name ending with "ito", that isn't the real name. It's an informal add-on to a name.

    The equivalent would be if there was a boxer named John Q. Punchemup, but he went by "Jack". (as of course in the English language, Jack is a frequent short-form version of John...although to someone who isn't a native speaker this would seem very odd, as Jack is hardly 'short' for John...)

    Jose : John :: Josesito : Jack

    It doesn't have to be just names, either. Gatito would mean "kitten". (Gato means cat in Spanish).

    Any time you add "ito", it's a cutie-pie very familiar way of saying Lil'. Mostly used with kids, but in Latino culture it's fairly common to find adults with "ito" nicknames.

    The Japanese have an equivalent suffix, -chan.

    If it wasn't for boxing I wouldn't know any Spanish.
