He's got whatever Roy Jones Jr has. No punch resistance.

A pretty classless celebration by Stevenson and his team. Didn't much care for those guys pointing and laughing at Dawson, getting up in his face. There's really no need for that. But considering Stevenson's past, I guess it's no surprise.

    I had 114-113 to Gamboa.

Entering the championship rounds I had a draw, 85-85. Perez had begun timing Gamboa and rallied to narrow the initial 40-35 deficit by sweeping the 5th-9th. Take away Gamboa's flash-bang knockdown in the 1st, and Perez would've been up at that point as the 1st was otherwise clearly his. (clearly, but not dominantly - 10-8 Gamboa was the proper score)

All of the HBO team's criticisms of Gamboa were valid. He needs to find himself, or he will plateau here. That isn't to say that beating a Darley Perez close but clear is a bad level to be, it's in fact quite good for a former featherweight. Something is still missing, however - all that potential remains unfulfilled...and time is running out for Gamboa at 31.

As for Darley, he is a still a useful lightweight. He dominated some fair journeymen and popped the cherries of some fellow prospects on the way up. I'd been impressed with a few previous times watching him, but never expected him to do this well his first time in with an elite...or quasi-elite. Lampley made a great shout, Crawford vs. Perez would be fun.

    Steve Weisfeld, long time judge.

    He did a fair job.

He admitted when Lampley asked that rounds 7 & 8 - which he scored to Gamboa - were very close and could easily have gone Perez's way.

I said everyone deserves another chance in an earlier thread but after seeing those celebrations he is a proper ****. He was doing the same thing in one of his recent fights when he beat a no mark.

    What a wanker.

That isn't the first time he's done that, either.

:yep Yeah, that was actually what I meant in my post. He's had a history of going way overboard. Against Boone, NGA, and as you mentioned in that thread with Jesus Gonzalez. Just disgusting, especially, in the Gonzalez fight given the state he was in.

I don't really have a problem with the way he acted after KOing Jesus Gonzalez... it was completely classless but then again Jesus went after him pretty hard prefight with his comments and wearing the name of a women's shelter on his trunks.

As Jesus you have to know you have taken the bout to a personal place... he got completely and utterly owned that day. Embarrassing to say the least.

With that said I would love to see Stevenson knocked out... seems a proper tool.

Oh yeah what a jerk that Jesus is for doing that. He sure deserved to have someone dance over him after getting KTFO, how dare he support a worthy cause. (and if it strikes a little too close to home for Adonis, tough ****ing ****, maybe he shouldn't have committed all his vile acts in the first place if he didn't want to be judged for them for the rest of his shitty worthless life)

Dawson is done I thought he would get KOed... but that easy? The shot was even deflected by his shoulder and not really a monster punch. With that outcome I even believe that he got KOed in sparring against Miranda.
Whats next for Dawson? Really hard to see how he can comeback after that.
