maybe now he will let his hands go more, now that he got the knockout out the way....and a few losses on his record...maybe now he will fight more aggressive and fight with a "nothing to lose" attitude .

when he lets his hands go, its a thing of beauty

but i dont know, maybe the ko will make him more defensive

indeed. Dawson and Andre Dirrell have lots of talent but both are lacking in mentality and heart toughness !

Chad shouldn't have fought Ward at 168. That ass whooping that Ward gave him took Chad's soul and desire and therefore I think this is one of the biggest reasons that Chad lost in this embarrassing manner in front of B level fighter !

I find it hard to believe that a knockout like that would tempt any fighter to be less defensive.

At this point, Chad is what he is. He might be able to change a few things and make some adjustments but his attitude isn't going to change imo.

I really hope this knockout teaches Chad the most important lesson of all: that he needs another trainer. Preferably Buddy McGirt or Freddie Roach. Then after that fight he can dump that trainer and hook up with Robert Garcia or Virgil Hunter. Following that fight he can hire whoever is hot at that point; maybe Abel Sanchez or Pedro Diaz.

the second straight smw to knock him out probably won't help. he's never been as focused as someone with his talents should be. he has always been prone to mental lapses in the ring. flashes of brilliance that he can't sustain. the man has been put down 4 times in the past 11 rounds. i'll be surprised if he can rebound and reclaim his spot at the top and its got nothing to do with a lack of talent. he doesnt have it upstairs.
