Is Calzaghe the next great brittard boxing myth? Can he overtake Jimmy Wilde for this most prestigious spot?

Calzaghe might be the bigger man, but Hagler has bricks in both hands. Also has one of the greatest chins of all time.

if anyone actually watched Marvin Hagler fight they'd have a pretty good idea what would likely happen in this hypothetical matchup. Calazaghe's major strength is putting together flurries/combinations that don't really have too much power behind the punches. But he punches with such an incredible frequency that opposing fighters have a hard time getting their own shots off or have difficulty timing a counter punch to him.

Joe C couldn't nail Hagler with anything that would make the Marvelous one pause for a second. Marvin would've taken his flurries, kept the pressure on him, and eventually knock him out. I don't think Calzaghe fought anyone of Hagler's ilk, and although he's a weight division above him, I'd heavily favor hagler to win in a TKO.

    Hagler on Calzaghe

"I knew the first time I saw Calzaghe that he really had something, he went in there completely unfazed against (Chris) Eubank which nobody else had done. Eubank was the guy who usually seemed to have control of everything around him but the way Calzaghe went in there and manhandled him like that...

"I was watching it in Italy, it was the same night England beat Italy to qualify for the soccer World Cup.

"Calzaghe showed and proved power, speed, strength, workrate, stamina, chin, heart and every tangible and intangible that night and that's why I'm not suprised that he's not lost since.

"Sometimes it's like watching a welterweight or junior-middleweight in a super-middleweight's body because he's so nimble and sharp handed. I would never bet against him."

Guess Hagler is a stupid Brittard that don't know **** about boxing

    1) no one is getting stopped in this match up.

    2) it would be a war that Calzaghe would initiate. Hagler would fire back and compete, but the faster hands and much higher work rate of Joe would keep him on top. Hagler would be the one after a few rounds of this to try and break it out into a boxing match. he'd be in a much worse position and would have nothing else but to back to the fire fight. Joe would be unrelenting.

    3) Joe's power gets very underrated on here by the Yanks. but that's not surprising considering that they only watched the last handful of his fights when he was past his best and had hands that had more damage done to them than your usual pug. both hit as hard as each other.

because Hagler liked to be patient with his boxing, his opposition opened up a lot more than Joe's opposition did. thus, he got cleaner shots off. Joe would put his opposition in such a storm, the best they could do was either be very defensive and keep their hands up and lose wide and clearly, or they could look to fire back and get the **** kicked out of them. either way, they were going down.

    3) hagler had one of the best jabs you will ever see. so pin point and on target. it truly is a thing of beauty. it seemed to find the target no matter what. but i'm so sorry, because Joe would shut that **** down from the get go by staying on top of Hagler and not giving him the distance needed. it would not be used as a weapon for Hagler in any way.

    4) Joe has the much better stamina. Hagler has great stamina also, but it's not on the level of Joe. Joe could go at full pace from the first right through to the last round. Hagler didn't do that so he would be challenged by that pace like never before. especially if he's forced to keep up with Joe to stay in the game. it would be white hot in there.

    5) Hagler is a straight up southpaw. Joe is one of the most awkward Mo Fo's you will ever see. Joe would dip, move off to the side and lean slightly back so as not to be an easy target. Hagler would get frustrated out there quite a lot.

    6) Calzaghe would never lose to a fighter who had been out of the ring for years, was past his prime and two weight divisions smaller. never. he also would never come close to losing to a way past prime fighter who had been at his best at ****ing Lightweight. i don't care who the fighter is. Joe would have spanked Duran like a *****. not once would it have been competitive. he would have taken a vicious beating.

    7) Joe has the better resume.

    8) Joe IS the better fighter.

both are great, but Joe is greater. stop with the bias will you. this Yank vs Brit is all well and good, but lets give the fighters their rightful credit.

Where is Calslappy on the overall ATG list?

    Top 10?

    #1?

    Is Calslappy the GOAT?

My god, his dog**** resume doesn't look good no matter how many years you spend posting. Calzaghe's resume is pure ****, Hagler shits on it, almost any notable fighter SHITS on his resume.

2 solid wins + 1 prospect = ATG RESUME in brittardland.

i'd place Joe somewhere in the top 60. he is the greatest Super Middle in history and a lineal Light Heavy champ.

you should cheack out some of the names on the list for all the ATG's. i'm sure you will see that it isn't full with the greatest fighters in history. :deal

If the ref wasn't up in Rieds ass all fight and didn't decduct a point , Joe would have a loss. Its clear that ref was in Franks pocket.

If Hop never said he'll lose to a white boy before the fight, Joe would have a loss.
