Do you think it's time ESPN replaced Teddy Atlas?

I'd like to see someone new doing the commentary and analysis for Friday Night Fights.

I think they would get better ratings if they replaced Teddy Atlas with someone better like John Skully or the articulate Antonio Tarver. Tessitore does a fine job and should stay though.

    What do you think?

Atlas isn't the problem. The problem is the same old, regurgitated fighters that ESPN puts on time and time again. Molina, Delvin Rodriguez, etc. I mean they can't find anyone else but these same, boring guys?

Yes, it's better to see the new blood on NBC like Jennings and Kovalev.

But people are tired of those same old comments from Teddy - a new voice on ESPN doing the commentary/analysis would be good for boxing.

Like I said, Teddy is not the issue. The issue is the same old, boring fighters they bring on time and time again.

I gotta admit, Teddy's deliberate Noo-Yawk-italian-mafia accent annoys the hell out of me.

No. Why replace someone that has been doing this for a long time? Sure no one is forced to like him but got to appreciate him. He has been involved in our sport for far too long to disappear. It's a similar case with Larry Merchant, a lot of people wanted him to go but now wish he was still around.

    Larry Merchant is entertaining.
    Teddy Atlas is just annoying.

I'll take Teddy over Lampley/Max/Mauro/Paulie anyday. He's not afraid to call a shitty fight a shitty fight.

True but the soapboxing, making fun of the fans scoring at home (usually doing a much better job than he is), random Tyson-bashing, and espousing a national commission headed by someone kinda sorta just like him - it's all grating in the extreme. He isn't much to look at, either. Not that I want my talking heads on boxing TV broadcasts to be male models or anything, but FNF coincides with the later end of supper time. Certain faces you don't wanna see while you eat, nahmsayin?
