Why does Floyd Mayweather fail to stop most of his opponents?

Mayweather was putting on a clinic in the 10th round I believe, and might have gotten the stoppage if he wasnt low blowed (to be fair). Judah must have felt like he was in trouble enough to blatantly foul him like that

He isn't the biggest puncher at 147 and up plus he is risk averse. I don't understand the obsession fans have with stoppages anyways. watching a 12 round boxing clinic isn't boring - to me at least.

    No it is not.

All the great fighters of the past defensive or not go for the kill when it is there.
    :patsch

I am not asking floyd to fight like Pac thats not his style and he couldnt do it so well, but for Gods sake when you have a guy outclassed in every area, skill, speed technique, have weight advanages unfairly like against Marquez - win every round and even put the guy down- going for the kill is the natural thing to do:good

Its not about giving up so much defensive its about being too damn cautious:yep

Isn't this the very definition of 'boring' employed by today's age of so called boxing fans so they can justify their endless whining about the "safety first approach" of a certain champion from another weight division?

For one, boxing wasn't invented for the knockout. A knockout is just something that can happen in a boxing match. When all a person wants to see is a knockout then their mind is limited to understanding the sweet science. True, knockouts can be exciting but they don't say much about the fighter. A guy can always say, he got lucky and caught me, just like the Chad Dawson fight. We don't know if the guy is a better fighter than Chad, that wasn't proven. When Mayweather finishes a fight, there is no doubt who the best is. There is none better at breaking an opponent down. Mayweather hurts them and there's nothing they can do about it. I read where people try and down play the pot shot. Let me say this, when you know a guy is gonna hit you in the face because he's been doing it round after round and there's nothing you can do about it, don't hate on him, hate on yourself cause he is doing what he is supposed to do but you're not. Solve the problem, That's boxing. When you hate on Mayweather, you hate on boxing cause that's what he do and he's the best at it, right now.:bbb

He plays it safe. He has pretty good power, but if he had committed to getting the KO in all of those 10 fights, he probably would have got knocked out once himself.

One thing going unmentioned is the fact that after a few rounds of floyd stealing shots on these guys and not being hit, the opponents become hesitant against floyd. Its the reason all of their outputs drop, no opponent throws caution to the wind with floyd and the few who have have gotten stopped.

If I was getting paid 30-40 million a fight to stay undefeated, I wouldn't take unnecessary risk either. Manny also took risk against a 40 more faded Marquez and that didn't end too well

The point of boxing is to win. If you school them 12 rounds like Floyd you win and prove your better. If you KO1 them like Stevenson you prove your better. Chad's job was to win and Stevenson prevented it, therefore he's better.
