I don't believe this crap that I'm hearing!!!! Glove scandal??? Que pinga es eso??? Angulo was taking some serious shots from a fighter who can crack. I'm surprised that swelling didn't happen earlier? I admit it did look like a thumb landed, but by no mean was that intentional. Remember when Guerrero Thumbed Berto? What happened? Berto fought all the way through... I'm Mexican and am not going to start making excuses, I take my losses like a man! Props for Lara for implementing some great boxing skills and demonstrating great recovery after getting dropped good. I used to think Lara would outbox Canelo, but not any more. If Perro flat-footed no defense Perro was able to drop Lara. Canelo might have more success against Lara than what I had thought.
that's what happens when u aggressively follow a boxer who moves and can punch...especially if you choose to block punches with your face.
you didn't see angulos head getting snapped back from crosses, hooks and uppercuts? the crowd oooh'd and a***'d every time it happened which was often. i thought angulo looked very aggressive and turned back the clock some. i didn't expect him to have as much success as he did...but he kept blocking punches with his face. not a good thing with someone who can move and punch as good as lara.
I love how the same people who have been trying to excuse or gloss over what Margarito did for years are eager to convict Lara on this issue.
The crowd ooh'd and awwed? did you really watch the fight? I was at the fights kid, this was all Angulos house here nobody was cheering or oohing and aaghhing on behalf of Larra. Did you miss the 100 plus vicious body shots that were landing? what about the two wicked left hooks that dropped Lara two different times?
what made you think that? Lara's loss to Molina? his draw against Vanes? Cubans have been getting overrated for years. I still don't know why they all get so much hype when few are able to reach that hype.
If you're calling what happened with Molina a loss for Lara you sure as hell shouldn't accept the official farcical scorecards from the Vanes fight.
if canelo was an aggressive fighter who applied pressure for 3 minutes of every round, i would agree with you...but he's not. he doesn't fight all 3 minutes and therefore, a lack of pressure would make for a much easier fight for lara. i agree with everything else in your post though.
Vanes was getting in that ass and didnt have to pressure him for three mins each round he put Lara in a position in which Lara had to hold and hit behind the head, Hit Low and headbutt his way out of the fight. Lara is Pure hype, utter garbage! I mean when you go life and death with Angulo that speaks volumes about your skills
Good Points Reed_Man02, Yes, Lara looked unimpressive in those bouts, but when he's on it like against Paul Williams ( where I think he was a clear winner ) he demonstrates some great skills. He man, Molina and Vanes are very underrated fighters, Both would give Canelito a tough fight. Anyways, Maybe I just didn't see it before but I saw plenty of holes in Lara that Canelo could take advantage. Still though, the issue with Canelo's stamina remains.
i was at the fights too. it definitely was a pro-mexican crowd but those head shots were very obvious to everyone except you apparently. i saw the body shots...a lot of which landed cleanly...others that landed on elbows and kidneys. angulo looked like the angulo of old when he took it to lara's body. what i didn't like was how he was coming in straight lines eating those clean shots for pretty much the whole fight. angulos face didn't get like that by itself. i get that your mexican and you're going to support la raza...i'm latino...i get that, but i have to call it like i see it.
