Because Hopkins has a long and storied history of ducking anyone half decent.

He's carefully navigated his last dozen or so fights.

How many years did it take for him to get in the ring with Chad Dawson? So scared of losing when he did get in the ring we got another Hopkins disgrace the first time out.

I don't know how this guy has so many fans/admirers. He is a disgrace to boxing, always cheated the fans. No big surprise he's "fighting" at his advanced age as he has hardly given anything while in the ring. Headbutt/hold, low blow, feign injury, attempt thumb in the eye etc.

Kathy Duva says via text, contracts are out to F.W. for a Kovalev-Cleverly fight. Also, HBO is interested in it...

 

I would be very surprised if Cleverly actually fights him :!:

 

If Tupou can drop Jennings you just have to wonder how he holds up against Fedosov who's a decent banger. Just wonder if Fedosov can actually touch Jennings, huge speed/reach advantage and Fedosov doesn't always keep up a good work rate.

 

So it that case why would Hopkins give Dawson a rematch when it did terrible numbers first time round.

 

He had no other option. I remember at first he was saying there wasn't going to be a rematch but was basically coerced into it to protect his reputation which was taking a rightful beating.

 

Yeah... but Fedosov really is a good test. Very strong on the inside with fast and sharp punches. He just has problems at times to get inside (pretty slow on his feets). Will be an interesting fight I think
