Tyson and Foreman both in prime who wins?

Foreman all day, very bad style for Tyson.

 

Foreman was way too slow for Tyson's speed. Tyson fought well against taller opponents in his prime, his head movement would allow him to get inside where he'd bust foreman up. Foreman was just too slow overall to deal with that speed. It would take a while, but Tyson would get to him

 

Frazier is an all time great. Equal to Marciano, but does not get the credit he deserves because of Big George. Similarities also end where Tyson doesn't get up. Nobody ever gets up after Big George puts them down. Frazier got up 6 times. Tyson goes down in 2 or less and stays down.

This is tougher then most might think. Prime Tyson was a beast with speed, power, head movement and foot work. I'm not taking anything from a prime Foreman who was a beast in his own right. One would probably compare Frazier to Tyson, but prime Tyson power, speed, and head movement was better then Fraziers. Foreman has the size and reach, which he could use to his advantage, but then again Foreman wasn't a technical kind of fighter. He relied on his strength and power. Either guy has enough pack in there punch to take the other out. In closing either guy could take this fight.

Winning the title at just shy of 46 years of age is a testimony to the extraordinary power that surged through the veins of Big George.

I'm not going to punk Iron Mike because Buster Douglass knocked him out.

Iron Mike was awesome but the winner is Big George Foreman.

By the way do you remember Cus Damato. Well he said no swarming Heavyweight who EVER lived would defeat Big George Foreman.

Saying Big George is an uncoordinated oaf who was an arm puncher who lacked snap in his punches and calling Smoking Joe Frazier the worst Heavyweight champ in the last 40 years is not helping you . Does East Side Boxing just let anybody keep putting down two Boxing Icons?

Buddy, you need to learn what irrefutable and objective mean, and then you need to take a step back and not drop your subjective opinions like they're fact..... Because they aren't even close.

 

i've thought long and hard on this one, but can't come to any reason why the other would have an edge.

Foreman would be willing to throw his shots regardless of what is coming back. he wouldn't shy away. so when Tyson comes forward, Foreman would look to get the uppercut off against the smaller man. but, Tyson's over hand right could go crashing in while Foreman is in the middle of throwing the uppercut.

both have huge power.
Foreman was stronger mentally back then in his prime. but would that matter if Foreman offers up positions for Tyson to get his best punches off by being too wide open?
Tyson had the better chin for me.

50/50 is all i can come up with. it really could go either way.

Tyson didn't need to bully Foreman. In fact, Tyson didn't really bully anyone, he was a smallish HW. Tyson just had insane power, speed and great skills. I would put my money on Tyson, Foreman gets hit a lot and he won't take Tyson's shots all night. No one does. If a prime Tyson lands a full power combo on Foreman, he's going down. Don't compare Fraizer to Tyson. Tyson hits harder with either hand, his left hook's better than Fraizer's famed left hook too. Tyson's handspeed is much better and Fraizer was a late starter, Tyson a faster starter.

Tyson and Fraizer had a few similarities, they swarmed, they bobbed and weaved, and they had similar height. But that's just on paper, just watch them fight and they are very different. Also, Fraizer's bobbing and weaving was more waster energy than anything, he still got hit easy. Tyson actually dodged punches and came back with huge counters. Manny also bobs and weaves and is a swarmer, he doesn't fight like the above though.

 

No one beats Tyson H2H. The night he fought Spinks. 87-88. Too fast. Too explosive. Well trained and few distractions. Taking nothing away from other great heavyweights, but the only one who could come close to matching his combination of speed, power and ferocity was Ali. People will say Lennox and Vitali were too big, but those guys have been dropped or hurt (McCall, Rahman, Sanders) by much lesser fighters. I have to believe Mike catches up to them. Bowe and Holyfield in their primes would be excellent contests, it's ashame Mike didn't extend his prime longer so we could have seen those. As for Big George, it would have been a wild fight, but Mikes explosiveness would have been the difference. It's all opinion of course, but fun to speculate.

 

If you are talking an absolute prime Tyson he wins, mid rounds at the most.

Tyson would fall eventually to Big George. But unlike Frazier, he doesn't have the heart to fight back after getting dropped. Once Foreman puts him down he will stay down or make a half-hearted attempt to rise before the count.
