I couldn't even call it a duck, honestly. Hopkins is too old for this. Fighters like Pascal and Cloud are one thing. Kovalev's already put one guy in the morgue, and Hopkins doesn't handle speed and combinations well right now. I don't think he can plan on Kovalev having a fight IQ in the single digits to compensate for the physical disadvantages he'll face in that fight.

The combinations and fluidity would overwhelm Bhop IMO. Would be a possible disaster for him. But we've been wrong before tho!

High risk low reward for Hopkins at this moment in time.

IBF says Kovalev in line for a shot. You think Bhop will dump the belt to avoid a possible KO?

do you really think a long time undisputed middleweight champion of the world (in the true sense of the word) cares what the IBF or any other federation ask of him?

and when was the last time you saw hopkins KO'd?

Kovalev punches harder and in better combos than Pascal, Cloud, Pavlik or any of the other power punchers Hops has faced

Think Kovalev would finally be B-Hop's Waterloo. Hard to be cunning run over by a tank.

is he a bigger puncher than felix trinidad?

being a big puncher doesnt count for a whole lot if you dont hit your target...

Kovlalev is trained by John David Jackson. Jackson used to work in B Hop's corner. Interesting matchup.

    ISNT 37 anymore...
and yet hes such a great ring general and has such savvy defensive skills that nobody can even look like KO'ing him

so i'll ask you again...when was the last time you saw hopkins get KO'd?
