And Minto was much better there, in much better shape. I mean if Szpilka showed a decent performance we could sa Szpilka could improve and be a world class heavyweight but so far I did not saw one single good fight of him.

    my thoughts on this fight

first, credit to Minto, for coming in after such a long layoff and preparing as best as he could for this one

Szpilka got hit way too much tonight, if Minto had a bit more power it would be the Mollo fight all over again... Szpilka has absolutely **** defense, even when he decides to put his hands up, to me, it seems his defense is getting worse and worse with each fight, i think the only thing that can save him and force him to change his style is getting knocked out cold... on the plus side, it's good to see he has established a pretty good jab, but that's about it, as far as tonight's fight goes

Kolodziej is ranked #2 by the WBA and IBF, if i'm not mistaken, he's been waiting for a title shot for a long time, but he's been riddled with injuries, but his main problem now, after winning with injuries, is his style, which is far from fan friendly

I thought it was more of a 96-94 type fight.

How somebody is ranked means ****. DeMori is ranked high at heavyweight. It is more a thing of clever matchmaking nothing more. A fighter can be ranked high in those rankings without doing anything great.
So far Kolo dont has one single good win. And I just have to say he looks bad. Dont gets title shots fighting 8 rounders and being hurt against low opposition.

It was close and a hard fight for Szpilka. Minto won some rounds. After time I dont even give a **** about the scores of Judges. I mean 100-90? REALLY?

he was supposed to fight Alekseev for the final IBF eliminator, but got injured

Kolodziej has not looked good lately, agreed, i think that Masternak is a much better pick when it comes to CW, i see what you mean about him not having a single decent win, i've even seen opinions by Polish fans saying that Kolo's title shot against Hernandez or Jones would be a repeat of Wawrzyk-Povetkin

Imo Janik could beat Kolodziej. Good fight by Janik. Dominated Rusiewicz in good style what is impressive.

One more fight confirming Szpilka is overrated.

His opponents are OK for someone with 15 fights, still, if he is giving close fights or even struggling with some of them, it simply shows he is at his limits.

I wasn't impressed. I mean he's alright and he's young I suppose. Looked about the same level as Gerber to me and a fight between the both would probably be alright to watch. I suspect old faded Adamek would ko him tbh.

Szpilka has talent but he's also a hot headed fool that can't tame himself, box when he's supposed to etc. His trainer yells at him for that fight after fighter and it still doesn't change. His promoters seem to go along with his bravado tendencies and keep matching him with a bit too good opponents at this stage of his career and especially at this stage of his mental development.

From the looks of it, before he reaches the top world level fights, where he maybe should have belonged, he will be half worn out.

Szpilka has found his level. He can improve, but he will never be a serious contender. Even at his age he should be cruising by these,Mintos, Mollos, McClines etc.

    I dont know satchmo.......

These are guys who are all known to give tough fights.....He's beaten all of em and came through some very adverse situations on his way to victory.

I think he needs to scale back his lvel of opposition for a few fights. Take on a Ding or a Gavern or a Mike Shepherd....someone who'll give him a few rds but he can look good against.

I think his team thought by bringing in a smallish HW like Minto....that Artur could walk though him....

Minto obviously had other ideas. He's the type of guy who aint going nowhere unless he's being blown out.

Like I said......Ive always thought Szpilka was being moved too quickly and as such he was being hyped a bit. I think they should slow him down but keep him active so he can learn to defend a bit better and improve on his technique.

His jab is coming along which is a huge positive considering he's pretty long.:good
