the fact is Wilder faught Damon McCreary in his 25th fight and Wilder is 27 and a medalist at the oylpmic games. tells us all we need to know about him. 28 fights best win against a 40 year old Audley. he is a sham.

 

Do some people not know how boxing works when it comes to prospects starting out their pro career?

 

Fury is getting the fights he needs at the fledgling stage of his career.

Out constantly fighting all over the world and at 18 years old who do people seriously think he should be fighting?

He is at the bottom of the card with all the time in the world to see how far he goes he is being managed perfectly well at present.No doubt his quality of sparring will be better than his opponents he is just executing what he is learning only a welcome addition to the pro ranks for me.Exciting future ahead of him.

 

Kelvin Price is Wilder's best win -- had a win over Tor Hamer, was undefeated, has come back with a win over Danny Williams in Germany since then.

McCreary was a make-busy fight on a week's notice so as to stay sharp.

Hughie's fighting pure trash, 103 total losses by his opponents racked up already. Pathetic.

 

Nominate who he should fight next? You seem to think this is the 90's we a huge depth of talent to test yourself with as you come. There is no depth in the HW division.

 

I think big Mick should be commended for what he is doing with Hughie, fair play.

 

I've said it several times -- find a 6-2 guy who will try, even with limited skills, rather than a 14-44 "professional opponent" who is there to try to remain upright but not making an effort to win rounds or win the fight. Just a live body, rather than a walking heavy bag.

The July fight seems a step in the right direction.

 

Are you for real? He's been a pro for less than three months. Are you really going to criticise a kid for getting some rounds under his belt/building confidence/gaining exposure/acclimatising to the pro game?

There is plenty of time to match him against opponents who will help him develop. Fury is not some guy in his late twenties with hundreds of amateur bouts under his belt - he's an 18 year old with a lot of promise.

And the 103 losses his opponents have racked up is quite unremarkable. Ricky Hatton's first 5 opponents had a combined total of 118 losses. Tomasz Adamek's first 6 opponents had combined total of 126 losses.

 

He compares himself to Tyson -- MIKE Tyson -- and says he's going to beat Mike's record to become youngest heavyweight champ. His supporters have already begun to declare him a future champ.

But mention his pathetic opposition so far, and "he's a mere lad of 18, a poor boy with hardly any experience."

If he and his supporters want to put him in a category with Mike Tyson, it's fair to examine his ledger in that regard and not as if he were some 18-year-old off the street fighting in back-room smokers.

But deontay wilder is an odd one,America has no great heavyweight yet they have an absolute load of middle tier to top 20 guys that wilder should have been fighting like tor hamer Kevin Johnson Steve Cunningham Eddie chambers fedosov tony Thompson Thomas adamek Bryant Jennings joe hanks Malik Scott derik rossey glazkov chris arreola nevin paejik Nikolai firtha Jonathan banks Seth Mitchell vinny maddalone jason estrada fres oquendo dominik guinn even bloody holyfield barrett grant or toney and many many others all ply their trade in North America
