Flintoffs style is made for the pro game. People need to get of his back and show him support.
I firmly believe if he is matched right and not rushed he could become one on Britains best ever boxers.

He should work on his hair pulling more I think

This. He trained full-time for months so he wasn't a novice; there are probably experienced amateurs who've done less work than he'd done yet he looked like a pub brawler. Fair play to him for getting into the ring but that contest belonged on Children in Need.

I remember Nick Okoth who reached a PF final a few years back. Local guy to me. He said once after knocking out a prospect. That he wasn't that happy because it probably means he will struggle to get fights because he's dangerous.

Many i feel turn up to lose so they get regular paydays and win the odd one to keep the board sweet but some are now taking the utter **** i know for a fact some can do more and don't try to win but i can understand Okoth's line of thought.

Im not talkin about robberies but as soon as this was anounced you knew it had to be a fix. Flintoff had no experience and eight weeks to train. Anyone with a bit of experience would of beat him. Now they weren't gonna send him out there to get beat.

Then that goes for any 'prospect' making their debut then.

I think you are confusing politics with fixes; there is a difference...

No Im not. A prospect has somebody brought in that they're expected to beat. The guy Flintoff beat was paid to lose but was more than capable of beating Flintoff.

If that had been a real fight, Dawson would have won within 2 rounds (probalby one).

I've seen worse setups, but it was up there. Flintoff just has no talent for the sport at all and obviously no punch resistance either.
Before the "fight" there was some vid here of him punching the bag, and there the complete lack of punching technique was already clear as day.
The way he trows a punch is so awkward that you can't put any power in it whatsoever.

If I'm very wrong and that wasn't a fix, then boxing is in the worst state ever. And I should have become a HW instead of taking a desk job.

When it is your profession as a Journeyman, you 'win' when you fight a decent prospect and are in shape enough to fight another decent prospect the following month, whilst able to make that local bill in a couple of weeks if you get a late call.

You played a Yorkshire Cup Semi Final... Very impressive (I am guessing League?). But for some that would hardly be an achievement. I am sure that a 'Danny McGuire' chuckles about the time as a youngster he played against this lump who played with what looked like a separated shoulder.

'McGuire' probably reminisces and yet probably could not remember what the match was for. After all he has played in Grand Finals and World Cups...

But for you, you are rightly proud of your 'achievement'. Same as a Pete Buckley should rightly be proud of his career and the same goes for a Miguel Matthews, Tony Booth, Shaun Norman, Karl Tayl...

    Union actually :good

The issue here is that I (and everyone else in the team) gave 100% every week.

I'm a bit young to have played against Danny McGuire.... would dread to think what he'd have done to me if I had though.... jeez

This young chap however.... a couple of years younger than me but he was playing ''over age'' from a very young age. People were talking of him as a potential world beater when he was barely out of nappies.

It looked like a pretty obvious fix, I agree, haha
